There have been a lot of changes happened in the smartphone market through the time of evolution. From the incoming of new technologies to the design everything changed drastically over time. We have also seen new companies coming into the mainstream and gaining good popularity globally. But when it comes to Android devices, there is one name which stayed as an important contributor to the market and this is Samsung. This Korean manufacturer was sucessfull in devleviring users with the latest of technologies and fatures which made them grow as a leader in the Android smartphone market. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are their new important launches for the year of 2018. Here is a guide to fix Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus weak signal strength problem.

Samsung never hesitated to add the latest flagship SoC of Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 845 for both the new devices.A 5.8-inch display for Galaxy S9 and a 6.2-inch display fo S9 Plus is provided by Samsung. S9 gets a 4 GB RAM, while S9 Plus gets a better 6 GB RAM. The rear camera of both devices is also different with a dual camera setup of 2 sensors each of 12 MP on S9 Plus, while a single 12 MP sensor is provided with the S9. An internal storage of 64 GB is available for both devices and can be expanded up to 400GB. A 3000 mAh battery for S9 and a 3500 mAh battery for S9 Plus is provided.

Ways to fix Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus weak signal strength problem

A weak signal can stop a user from doing even the basic thing like making calls from the device. This can be a really annoying issue and a device with a weak signal can turn out to be useless. There can be multiple reasons for this problem from occurring. Sometimes it can be some issue from the service provider side or at times an issue with the device. Here are some basic things you can do to fix Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus weak signal strength problem:

  1. Toggle flight mode on and off
  2. Power off the device, remove the SIM card, re-insert it and power it back on
  3. Contact your service provider to know the extent of coverage in your area or for some other issue from their side

If nothing of the above helped you can still do some steps on your device that might help you fix the issue. These steps are listed below.

Boot into safe mode

At times a third-party service or apps can cause issues like a weak signal strength. you can fix this by removing the app or service causing the issue. The best way to identify if the problem is caused by such an app or service is by booting into safe mode. The steps to do this are:

  1. Power off the device completely.
  2. Press and hold until the logo appears
  3. Once the logo appears to release the power button and the press and hold the volume down button
  4. Release the button when safe mode appears at the bottom of your device screen

Change network mode

  1. Open settings
  2. Tap on connections
  3. Now tap on more networks
  4. Tap on mobile networks
  5. Tap on Network mode
  6. From the list select GSM/WCDMA

Clear system cache

  1. Power off the device
  2. Press and hold volume up button, Bixby button and power button
  3. When the screen with No commands message shows up tap on the screen
  4. Use volume keys to highlight wipe cache partition and use the power button to select it
  5. Confirm by selecting yes option

Hard reset

  1. Power off the device
  2. Press and hold volume up button, Bixby button and power button
  3. When the screen with No commands message shows up tap on the screen
  4. Use volume keys to highlight wipe data/factory reset and use the power button to select it
  5. Confirm by selecting yes option
