Cubot A5 Specifications: Overview

The device comes with a 5.5-inch Full-HD+ IPS display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution quality. It’s powered by octa-core 1.3GHz MT6753 chipset paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The storage memory can be expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The dual-SIM supported handset runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Pre-Requirements:

  • ROM file supported: Cubot A5 device only. Don’t try it on other devices.
  • Charged your phone battery up to 60% at least for a smoother process.
  • Make sure to take a complete backup of your device data at first. If in case, anything goes wrong, you will easily get back the important data.
  • Next, perform a full data wipe (factory reset) from the stock recovery [Required]. Otherwise, you may get the error while installing AOSP ROM.
  • Download the Cubot A5 USB Drivers and simply install it on your PC.
  • You will need to unlock the bootloader on the MediaTek device.
  • Download and install the ADB and Fastboot tool on your PC.

If you want to install the Android Pie based AOSP Custom ROM on your device, then follow this guide completely. You need to flash the Custom Pie ROM via ADB Sideload method on your device. Because the TWRP Recovery flashing isn’t supported yet.
