Android 10 is finally here and there are a handful of devices for which the latest Android 10 OS has been rolled out. The first one among the list is for obvious reasons, the Google Pixel devices, and interestingly, all the Pixel devices i.e. the from Pixel 1 to the Pixel 3 (including the XL variants as well) are receiving the updates for the Android 10. This can be a bit of a bummer for a lot of other OEM smartphones as they are barely one year old and still not eligible for the Android 10 update. However, the Android 10 also packs with it a bit of issues and problems that the early users have reported. In this post, we are going to deal with one of the issues and will guide you on how to solve the Pop-up notification issue on Android 10.
According to reports on the Pixel Forum several users have reported that there is some issue with the pop-up notification on devices running on Android 10. The issue reported is basically when you are in a phone call, the pop-up notification simply does not work. This becomes very annoying in situations when you are getting another call and you have to pull down the notification bar to see who is calling you while you are connected to a call. However, in this guide, we have a couple of methods that will resolve this issue. So, without any further ado, let us get straight into the article itself;
How To Solve Pop-Up Notification Issue on Android 10
In this method, we have three methods that will help you resolve the pop-up notifications issues on the Android 10. The first method is the most basic one that requires you to cross-check whether you have enabled the pop-up notifications on your device or not. The other two methods are the fix or solution to the notifications problem.
Method 1: Enable the Pop-up Notifications on Android 10
If you are the user of the Pixel, OnePlus or the Essential phones then, you probably might have been enjoying the latest Android 10 operating system on your devices. - Toggle the Pop-up screen option if it is disabled.
Method 2: Change the Adaptive notifications settings to None
With the Android 10, there are a lot of new features and enhancements that are intended to make life better for the user. However, in any case, these features are obstructing with your notification pop-ups, then you can simply disable them. Moreover, there is a new feature called Adaptive notifications that are meant for enhancing the notifications but, in any case, you can simply disable it by following the below method;
- Go to Settings>>Apps & notifications>>Advanced>>Special app access.
- Then tap on Adaptive notifications.
- Here, select on None option
Moreover, turning off the Adaptive notifications feature has cured this pop-up notification issues for many of the users and you might add yourself to the list. However, if you are still unable to fix the issue, you can follow our third method below.
Method 3: Clear cache and storage data of the App
Probably the last resort which we all go to in order to fix any unresponsive application is to go to the app information settings and clear the cache and storage of that particular application. But, note that clear apps cache and storage data will completely wipe off that particular app’s settings and all your information stored for that particular application. So, backup all the data, for example, messages, personal information, etc. Follow the below steps to clear cache and storage data of the applications;
- Go to Settings app>> Apps & notifications>> See all apps.
- Now, locate the applications on which you are facing the pop-up notification problem.
- Then, tap on the app’s name, and tap on Storage & cache.
- Finally, tap “Clear cache” to clear its cache and also tap on “Clear storage” to reset the app.
You can also first clear the cache data of the app and see if it solves the issue or not and then go ahead with clearing the app’s storage data.
So, there you have it from my side in this post. Hope the above-mentioned methods were able to solve the pop-up notification problem on the Android 10.
