Clean the WiFi Module:
This is more of a hands approach or fixes in this guide, and some users have reported that this trick worked for them. So you should certainly give this a try.
You will have to open the back panel of the TV for this method. But you don’t need to worry about the complications as much as the procedure is simple and standard.
- Place the TV face down and open up the screws bolted at the back of your TV.
- Once you remove the back cover after removing all the screws, you will see the WiFi module at the lower part of the TV.
- Unscrew the case of the WiFi module.
- Remove the module from the case.
- Cautiously unclip the connection ribbon on the WiFi module.
- Using a Q tip, clean up the connection slot of the WiFi module and then wipe the end of the connection ribbon as well.
- Once the cleaning is complete, clip the connection ribbon back into its place.
- Put the WiFi module back into the case.
- Screw it back onto the TV.
- Put the back cover back into place and screw it up again.
- Now turn on your TV.
- Go to Settings.
- Open All Settings.
- Go to Network and then select WiFi network.
If the trick worked, the TV should turn on the WiFi and search for nearby available networks. But you will see the same WiFi issue on your TV if it doesn’t work. In that case, try the next solution.
Set the correct date and time:
Setting the correct date and time is essential on any Smart TV to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Press the Home button.
- Select the Settings option.
- Select Device preferences.
- Go to Date and Time.
- Now check the date and time. If it is not set correctly, select the automatic date & time option and set it to Off.
- Go to the set time zone option and select the correct time zone.
- Then, restart the TV.
If even this does not work, move on to the next solution.
Use an Ethernet Cable:
If there is a possibility that the WiFi module on your TV is corrupted, then you should consider using a wired ethernet cable for connectivity. If the ethernet cable works for your TV, you can be certain that your WiFi module is at fault. And then you can directly replace it.
- Connect one end of an ethernet cable to your WiFi router and the other to your TV.
- Press the Settings button on your remote.
- Go to Network.
- Select Wired Connection.
- You should see the text connected after a few seconds.
If you still don’t see it, move on to the next solution.
Factory Reset LG TV:
Resetting your TV will take every setting on your TV back to its default value. It will be like when you bought a TV for the first time.
- Go to Settings.
- Select All Settings.
- Select General.
- Scroll down and find the option to reset to Initial Settings.
- Select confirm to confirm your action to perform the reset.
Now, wait till the reset is complete. Once it is complete, try using the WiFi. If it still does not turn on, move to the final solution.
