The Lineage OS 17.1 is the upgraded version of Lineage OS 17. The new Lineage OS 17.1 GSI is developed by AndyYan (XDA Recognized Contributor) on this XDA Forum with the source of Android 10 GSI (phhusson). Keep in mind that you will need to unlock the device bootloader and install a TWRP Recovery on your device to install this custom ROM.
Now, you may ask what is GSI? A GSI (Generic System Image) is a system image that’s developed for Android devices with some adjusted configurations. It’s considered to be a ‘Pure Android’ implementation with unmodified AOSP (Android Open Source Project) that can run on Project Treble supported devices. If you don’t know, all the Android 8.0 Oreo or above devices are Project Treble supported which offers easier and faster software updates.

Steps to Install Lineage OS 17.1 for Moto G7 Play
