The Xiaomi Mi 9T (Also known as Redmi K20 globally) smartphone was launched back in June 2019 with flagship-grade specifications out-of-the-box. It came with Android 9.0 Pie over MIUI 10. Currently, Xiaomi rolling the latest & stable Android 10 for Mi 9T with MIUI 11 in the Europe region. The update is live with the software version V11.0.4.0.QFJEUXM including other improvements and bug fixes. Google has launched the 10th iteration of Android OS version called Android 10 (Q) in September 2019 officially. It’s the successor version of the last generation Android 9.0 Pie. The Android 10 version brings a bunch of features like smart reply, system-wide dark mode, gestures navigation, improved location privacy, enhanced app permissions, sound amplifier, live caption, focus mode, family link, and more. Meanwhile, the update also brings the January 2020 Android Security patch level.

This patchset improves system security and performance. Apart from this, the update also offers some of the bug fixes like notification settings in the notification shade in Second space, SIM switching errors, overlapped images in scrolling screenshots. Manually Check OTA Updates

As the software OTA update always roll-out in batches from the server-side, it may take a couple of days or more to hit all the units globally. So, all the Xiaomi Mi 9T users should wait for the OTA update notification for a few days and keep checking the OTA updates manually.

To check OTA updates, head over to the device Settings > About Phone > Software update. Meanwhile, you can check OTA updates via the Software Updater app as well on your phone.

Tip:

The major Android updates may be bigger in size. So, you should maintain the battery level of more than 60% and connect to a Wi-Fi network as well.

  1. Does the new update still retains miui own messaging app with miui contact and call dialer that enables call recording? Or does it change to Google messages and contact? I really need to know before updating, thanks
