New Update on August 01, 2020: Today Xiaomi rolled the bug fixes for the MIUI 12.5 update with the July 2021 security patch. The update is labeled with V12.5.1.0.RJCCNXM.
New Update on September 08, 2020: Xiaomi Redmi 9 finally started receiving MIUI 12 after pausing it a few days back. The update is now live with the same version as earlier: v12.0.1.0.QJCCNXM.
Updated on August 27, 2020: Today Xiaomi paused the rollout of MIUI 12 due to a bug and now set to release another new update for MIUI 11 with version V11.0.7.0.QJCCNXM. The updates improve performance and system stability.
Updated on July 27, 2020: Today Xiaomi rolled MIUI 12 update for Redmi 9 with software version V12.0.1.0.QJCCNXM. This update brings all-new MIUI 12 skin, improved system animations, new wallpapers, privacy protection, floating windows, improved control center, improved dark mode, always-on display mode, improved lock screen, redesigned home screen, improved camera app, enhanced weather info, improved settings, security features, etc.
Updated on July 10, 2020: Today in China started rolling MIUI 11.0.3.0 China Stable ROM for Redmi 9 (codenamed lancelot) with software version V11.0.3.0.QJCCNXM. The update is rolling via OTA (Over the air) for users in China which are based on Android 10. You can download and install the update manually.
This new update brings no major changes except the latest May 2020 Android Security Patch, app locks now support all apps, revamped the start page, and optimized some of its features. As mentioned, the firmware update bumps up a new software version V11.0.3.0.QJCCNXM is rolling out via OTA in a gradual manner. Therefore, the OTA update may take some time to arrive on all the units completely. However, you can software updates manually.

Check OTA Updates
If you’re not receiving the firmware OTA update on your handset, you can manually check the OTA update via the phone Settings > About Phone > Software Update. If any software update is available, just download and install it.
Alternatively, you can go to the Software Updater app on your Xiaomi device to check the OTA update. Make sure that your handset is charged more than 60% and connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Steps to Install MIUI China Stable ROM on Redmi 9 (lancelot)
