New updates are added on May 16, 2020: So, we are all aware about the green tint and black crush issue that has surfaced the OnePlus 8 Pro devices and has been reported by several users over various platforms. The OEM was supposed to fix this issue with the previous update but it did not happen. However, a new update has been again pushed for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro users that arrive with OxygenOS 10.5.6 and OxygenOS 10.5.8, respectively. Although, nothing is clearly stated that this new update fixes the display issue on the OnePlus 8 Pro, what we believe is that the “Optimized touch and interaction experience” mentioned in the changelog is meant for the display issue fix.  Moreover, the update also bumps the security patch level to April 2020 and brings several improvements and changes to Bluetooth, camera, network, and system on both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Moreover, going by the users reports for some, the update seems to have fixed the display issue on the OnePlus 8 Pro while there are some for whom this update has triggered a new Red-tint issue on their devices. We do not as to what is causing this issue on the recently launched OnePlus 8 Pro and why even after two updates, OnePlus has not been able to resolve the matter at hand.

Note that the OnePlus 8 Pro has surfaced with a green tint and black crush issue which was expected to be fixed with this new update. But, it seems like the update does not bring any fixes for the screen or display related issues. Moreover, the company has already stated those issues as hardware problems and are offering repair/replacement/refund options for the OnePlus 8 Pro users.

OnePlus did not shy away from releasing its new flagships for the year 2020, the OnePlus 8 series, even after the COVID-19 scenario. Although the launch was done online, the device has been well appreciated by all the tech reviewers across the globe. The OnePlus 8 series phone is the first from the lot, to spot the wireless charging technology. Besides, OnePlus has gone with the same design and form factor of the OnePlus 7 and 7T Pro device, but in place of the pop-up selfie camera, we will now see the punch hole camera. Rest every spec, as expected, is top of the notch, and it seems like the company is slowly moving away from the tag of being a flagship killer to becoming a flagship itself as the device starts from $900 US.

And for those who already have their hands on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, there is some good news, as the company has now pushed a new update, which is an important one and probably will be asked to install, while you are done with the device setup after unboxing it. The update brings truckloads of improvements and new features for the device, and it looks like this update makes this OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro ready for the mass consumption. Below is the firmware information along with the changelog of this new update for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro:
