  • Make sure that you do a full backup of everything that may be present on your device, just in case something gets wrong.
  • You need a Windows PC with ADB and Fastboot installed. (For 1st Method)
  • Please note that this method would only work on the OnePlus 5/ 5T.

Method 1: Using ADB

Now, in order to Install OxygenOS 5.1.5 on OnePlus 5 and 5T using this method, you need to follow these steps carefully:

  • First of all, make sure that you have downloaded the above update files on your PC.
  • Now, enable the USB Debugging on your OnePlus 5 or the 5T. To do this, simply go to the Settings >>About Phone and tap on Build Number 7 times until you see a message saying “You are now a developer”. Now go back to the Settings>> Developer Options>> and enable USB Debugging.
  • Connect your OnePlus 5/ 5T with your PC using a USB Cable.
  • Now, open the Command Window on your PC. To do this simply go to the folder which contains the downloaded updates files hit the Win + R keys together and type in cmd and hit the enter key.
  • Enter the following command in your Command Prompt Window.
adb devices
  • Now, if you get any prompt on your Device for USB Debugging, just tap on Allow.
  • Enter the following command and hit the enter key to start updating your Device.

Note: Make sure that you replace the file name.zip with the name of the update file.zip which you downloaded earlier.

adb sideload File Name.zip
  • Now, wait till the process has been completed.
  • Once the process has been completed, just disconnect your device from the PC and reboot it.

That’s it, you have successfully installed the OxygenOS 5.1.5 on your OnePlus 5 or 5T. Now, let us take a look at our next method.

Method 2: Using Stock Recovery (No Root) 

Now, in order to Install OxygenOS 5.1.5 on OnePlus 5 and 5T using this method, you need to follow these steps carefully:

  • First of all, make sure that you have downloaded the above update files.
  • Now, switch off your OnePlus 5/ 5T completely.
  • Boot your device into the Recovery Mode. To do this, turn your device back on by pressing the Power + Volume Down keys at the same time.
  • Here, select Apply Update and select the Choose from Internal Storage option.
  • Now, navigate to the folder contains the downloaded updates files and tap on the <Update>.zip file.
  • Wait for the flashing process to get completed.
  • Once the process has been completed, just reboot your OnePlus 5/ 5T.

  • First of all, make sure that you have downloaded the above update files.
  • Now, switch off your OnePlus 5/ 5T completely.
  • Boot your device into the TWRP Recovery Mode. To do this, turn your device back on by pressing the Power + Volume Down keys at the same time.
  • Here, select Wipe >> Advanced Wipe >>Select Wipe cache and Dalvik cache. 
  • Now, slide the button at the bottom to confirm.
  • Tap on Install.
  • Now, navigate to the folder contains the downloaded updates files and tap on the <Update>.zip file.
  • Slide the button at the bottom to confirm the flash.
  • Once the process has been completed, Wipe cache and Dalvik cache again.
  • Now, tap on Reboot Device to reboot your OnePlus 5 or the 5T.

That’s it, you have successfully installed the OxygenOS 5.1.5 on your OnePlus 5 or 5T.
