Realme, one of the fastest-growing smartphone makers in India has officialy introduced their own UI, Realme UI. As of now, all of the Realme smartphones uses Color OS, which is a custom skin developed by Oppo. Realme UI is nothing other than, an altered version of Color OS 7, whilst the Color OS is based on Android 10. So, what Realme does is just adding a layer or a theme on top of the Color OS 7. But it is said to have a simplified design and lots of new features.
Features of Realme UI
Realme claims that ,their new UI would offer ‘near to stock’ Android experience for the users. They’ve revamped the home-screen arrangement, notification center and icons. It also packs a range of customizations, including system colors, icons, wallpapers, and animations etc. For the icons, Realme UI uses the core elements of common household items. Not only for the shape and size, but the internal graphic size of the icons can also be customized. The UI also comes preloaded with 11 custom animated wallpapers, which are “inspired by natural elements” as they claim.
The interface is said to have naturally high-saturation and high-brightness colors. Apart from the looks, the UI also packs various features from Android 10 including the performance optimization. It includes some new features like Focus Mode, Personal Information Protection and improved ‘smart gestures’. The Focus mode let the users to be “provisionally isolated from the outside world” while the system plays some relaxing music. It also protects user’s information by not giving access to the “real” data. Also, the 3-finger screenshot is further improved and now, it let the users to capture a specific are of the screen.
Realme UI is more likely to be released as per the Andriod 10 update roadmap, shared by the company yesteryear.
Early access program and release date
The company had confirmed that, Realme UI will be rolled out to selected devices by January 2020. Realme XT and Realme 3 Pro are the devices which are currently in favour to receive the new customized skin.
Now, the brand is looking for both the Realme XT and Realme 3 Pro users to test out their new skin which will be a beta version. The program is only open for 200 users, based on first come first serve basis. All you have to do is quickly fill-up the form mentioned on the Realme India’s Community page and share the necessary details.
