If you are the one suffering to connect the Ring Chime or Chime Pro to a Wi-Fi router, then you are not alone. Here we are mentioning different steps that you can follow to resolve the connection issue. For more details, have a look down below:
Step 1: Check Wi-Fi Credentials:
Several users have reported that their Wi-Fi credentials contain special characters, which is why their Ring Chime is unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network. Sometimes these special characters in your Wi-Fi credentials can lead you to issue with your smart devices like Ring Chime. In this scenario, we suggest you change the Wi-Fi credentials as there are no special characters both in the Wi-Fi name or password, and then you can try to reconnect the Ring Chime to the home network and check the issue is resolved or not.
If the connection problem persists, you can reset your Wi-Fi router. Before proceeding with the reset procedure, you can power cycle the router and reconnect the device to your Wi-Fi router and check if it is connecting to the network or not. If power cycling the Wi-Fi router does not help, then you have an option to reset your Wi-Fi router.
Step 2: Change Mobile Device:
According to the Ring Support Center, a similar connection problem might occur due to the mobile device you are currently using. The best solution here is to try using another mobile to set up your Ring Chime. After the device is connected to the Wi-Fi network, you can still access the device with the former mobile, but it might be best to use another device for the setup process.
The Ring Chime not connecting issue is mostly experienced on Samsung devices; here, switching up the device will help you connect easily to the Wi-Fi network. Moreover, you need to check if you have any VPN enabled when trying to connect the Ring Chime with your Wi-Fi network. The VPN service might cause problems during the setup process, so disable those services when Ring Chime tries to connect to the network.
Step 3: Reset Chime:
After trying the above steps, you are not able to connect your device to the Wi-Fi network; then, you need to reset the Ring Chime to factory settings. To reset the Ring Chime, connect it to any power source, insert a tiny clip or needle to access the reset button. Press and hold the button for a few minutes, then release it.
