    2. and yea i also linked to his profile also. So please next time do check properly. i didnt include the source direct link. i’l do that asap.

  1. Is there a video tutorial i sorta get the gist of it but i cannot afford to make a mistake i just bought this phone today

  2. I flash the recovery, and follow the steps for the first boot into twrp, and it goes straight to the factory reset screen, not twrp.
I get the confirmation that twrp is installed, but it doesn’t seem to be installed.

    1. It is installed on your phone. When it is rebooting, try to hold the Volume UP button to enter recovery on first mode.

      1. i installed the file on my phones SD Card and connected my phone to a pc and used the command “adb reboot bootloader” it took me to the bootloader then i entered the command “fastboot devices” then i enter the command “fastboot flash recovery twrp-image-3.img” but the command said failled. and then i used the command “fastboot reboot” i held the up key and it goes to download mode but isn’t installing anything? did i do something wrong? because what i did is exactly what the tutorial said and it seems to not work, i’m confused. please help. email: coreygibson1997@gmail.com

  3. When you unzip twrp recovery download I got a file named recovery.img. That’s what you need to type into adb command instead of twrp-image-3.img to flash. Substitute whatever file name you have.

    1. If you have the name : recovery.img, then you should enter the command “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”. or if it is twrp-image-3.img, then enter command as “fastboot flash recovery twrp-image-3.img”

  4. Step 5… i cant the ADB folder it’s properly downloaded and i followed the blue screen to download it from the exe. but i cant find the folder on my windows 10

  5. So I have come to a standstill guys. My phone is stuck in loop mode. Tried looking everywhere. Nothing. I flashed TWRP and it loaded into it normally. Did the backup, did the wipe and it said no OS before rebooting and now when it loads it loops into the LG logo. I tried getting back into TWRP and I couldn’t get back in cause it does an openscript thing and then right back to the LG logo forever. I need help please. I just bought this Aristo and I would rather have it stock again and never try to flash again. I am deathly worried.

    1. Very sorry to here that… But if you have took complete backup, then you can restore it back. Flash the TWRP again to get it back.

  6. I cannot flash TWRP again though cause you need USB debug and I cannot do that without getting past the bootloop.

    1. When I use the power up button I go directly in a screen that says ” Your device software cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader. Press the power key to continue.” This screen just keeps loading over and over. But If I press the power key like is says to do then my phone boots normally.

When I use the power down button I see the first white screen that says Erase all user data & restore default settings? So as instructed I say YES. . Now a second white screen pops up saying the same thing. Again I say YES. Now I goto the same screen I saw before. “Your device software cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader.

Well, I never do get to the twrp screen. I press enter and wait for awhile while the phone reboots and I now have a factory reset phone. No big deal about the factory reset.

      Any thought?

      1. update

I was able to get into twrp and flash su and dm-verity. When I reboot the phone in jumps into the screen that says “your device software cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader. press the power key to continue.” So I press enter. It now displays the LG life’s good screen. then changes to the t…mobile screen. and finally it changes to the “encryption unsuccessful, reset phone” screen. So I press “reset phone”. It now displays the “t..mobile.” screen and reboots into the “your device software cannt be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader….”. I press enter and the blue screen shows up as it tries to load twrp. A scription runs saying “running open recovery script”. But in a second it jumps to the screen “your device software cannot be checked for corruption…….”

I used the power key and the down volume key to get into the twrp. It takes me to the two white screen. I answer yes on both. It takes me to the “your device software cannot be…..” I press enter and it displays the script runs “running open recover script”. Then the screen “your device software cannot be checked for corruption…….”.

I plugged the phone into the computer. The phone beeps but the computer does not see the phone.

        Any thought?

        1. Trevor, I am in your exact situation. Still stuck. Nothing else to do at the moment it seems. No one has been able to help us yet. I’m gonna go to where I got the phone and see if anything can be done. If not, I’ll have to save up to buy another phone and not try to root it ever again.

          1. Holly cow! I will have to check it out. Thank you for posting it. Very great full.

I looked over the instructions again. I realized something. When I downloaded the software and moved it to the SD card, I down loaded the latest versions! The instructions are very specific about what version to use. When I get home I will double check to make sure I download the versions called out inside the instructions. If I can get my phone fixed, I will try to follow the instructions again, with the versions called out in the instructions.

“Transfer the downloaded ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-2.1.zip’ and ‘SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip to your internal storage or EXTSD”

Rafael C. Please check what software version you used. Are they the ones listed above?

          2. UP date:
I could only get these versions:
            * no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip (I did not down load “.zip.shal” version. Only the “.zip” version. Should I be using the “.zip.shall”?
            * SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip

          3. Bummer, So far I am getting “Connection to server failed. Try again in a moment.

I believe I am using the stock usb cable. I will check tonight.

            Windows 10

        2. How did you get into TWRP? When i try to do it, I hold down vol-dwn and power, then it takes me to a while screen that wants me to factory reset my phone.

          1. Hi Arthur, Can you take a picture and send to me via my mail ? or you can attach it to any picture hosting and send the link here. Because it’s always Volume down and Power key to enter Recovery. If it is showing Factory reset, then it means you have not installed TWRP Recovery.

    1. When I press the down volume and power button, then when I see the lg logo I release the power button for a second and then re-press it. The first white screen says “Erase all user data & restore default settings?” I press “yes”. Now a second white screen shows up and says “Erase all user data & restore default settings?” I say “yes”. Before I flashed the SU and no-verity software, the TWRP shows up.

Hope this helps. I’m not sure those are the two white screens that should show up.

I am in the process with trying to un-brick my phone. lol. The price you pay for messing around with this stuff. But I have flashed all my other phones over the years and have had no problems.

p.s. I am no professional. I always have followed the instructions others that are generous to share there work with us. Thank you that. Always grateful.

  7. Looks like I might be out of luck.
I followed the instructions using the lg flash tool. I receive “Connection to server failed.” I do not think that the computer sees my phone, even in download mode.

Did you computer indicated it was connected to your phone when you plugged in the usb cable?

I get the msg. when the computer is trying to flash. The software never shows any phone information.
I have the driver 4.2 and not 4.1.1.

    update:
I have a new lg aristo to mess with. This bricked one and a new one. I even tried to use the lg flash tool on the new one and I receive the same response as I mentioned above. I must be something I have installed or doing on my computer. I can’t figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wish there was a video of this. I must be missing something simple.

    1. Up date:
When I place my phone into download mode and use fastboot to re-flash TWRP, then reboot the phone by pulling out the battery and hold volume down- power – release power- press power- yes- yes. I see the black display, I press power. Then I see TWRP front page indicating the it is about to load. But this is the strange part. I see the script running and a bunch of worded lines but it never goes to the TWRP screen so I can slide the slider to the right and go into the options. Instead the phone reboots.

Any advice? Or anyone ever see this before? Help please.

  8. hi I got to the part where i turn on the phone to open twrp. Whenever i try to open it twrp will show for a few seconds then the phone reboots normally. What is it that I’m doing wrong?

  9. When I try to boot into recovery(manually), I see TWRP briefly before it says executing recovery script, then it boots into the system. Please help.

        1. By chance I went into update my system to the latest update over the air. After it downloaded and asked for me to power off the phone and reboot I did. But the strangest thing happened. It rebooted into TWRP boot loader. I could use it like I should have if I booted into it by the power button and volume button option. I used the option to reboot the system and it did. Ok now I tried to use the power button and volume button option to get into the twrp system. To my surprise it just did the same thing Joevanny Ruiz said and I have been experiencing.

          I hope this helps.

I tried to use the LGUP software. If I run the program without the phone plugged into the computer It obviously tells me it can’t find a phone. I plug my pone in and it sees it. I run the program and it says “LGUP can’t load the model C:program files….. So this method I am stuck with as well.

I tried to use fastboot to flash the factory firmware on it. But It wouldn’t .

          1. Update: I reinstalled TWRP V1 with no luck fixing my problem. I installed TWRP V3 and that fixed my problem. I can boot into TWRP by using the power and volume buttons now.

  10. someone plz reply back i succesfully flashed twrp but whn iuse volume down and power button it takes me to factory reset not twrp plz help does anyone know how t fix this

    1. Did you boot your phone to system first and then turned off the device to open TWRP Recovery ? If yes! after flashing TWRP, you need to boot into recovery first : Follow this : For the first time, you need to Reboot your Phone into Recovery mode by holding VOLUME DOWN + POWER until you see the LG logo and then temporarily release the POWER button, immediately pressing and holding it back down until you see the white prompt screen. You will NEVER release the volume down button in this process!

  11. After i type “adb reboot bootloader” my phone restarts into the bootloader yet when i type “fastboot devices” nothing shows. Any other commands I type just says [waiting on device] Please help?
