To get a hold of the fishing rod in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, players need to get in touch with Zack. Zack is a fellow NPC in the game, and he is the go-to person for this. During the earlier stages of the game, players would have encountered Zack on their farm. He’d present himself as the person who collects any sellable item from the box near your farm. Zack will sell it for you and hand over the money.
Zack is usually found at his home that is located on the eastern coast, right beside the pier on the map. Players need to make their way to hIs house, walk inside and interact with him. During the interaction, Zack will inform players that he knows an old friend that has moved out and left behind his Fishing Rod. As Zack isn’t into Fishing, he will assume its better off with the player.
It is noteworthy to mention that Zack can only be met inside from 11 AM and 4 PM each day. Once players have interacted with him, they will receive the Fishing Rod in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.

Players can then set up the fishing rod and select the tool key to throw the line into the water. Players should keep an eye on the bobber after throwing the line. It will bounce about as soon as a fish bite. Selecting the tool key again will reel in the line from the water.
Fish will escape at the time, but another one will soon come along and bite down on the line. Timing is key here, so players will have to try it a couple of times before they can actually reel in some fish.
