Vivo recently launched their new smartphones, the X27 and X27 Pro. Along with them, the company also made an update to its custom ROM, which is called the Funtouch OS. The new iteration is called Funtouch 9 and is based on Android 9 Pie. The UI is a deeply customized Android skin, which is not loved by some people because of the amount of similarity it shares with Apple’s IOS.
According to Vivo the new Funtouch 9 has around 72 new features, 55 optimizations and 263 UI improvements, all these making a simpler, smarter and more beautiful interface for better user experience.
Funtouch 9 New Features:
Vivo has made the icons more rounded, so they look good in full-screen smartphones. It also comes with several new wallpapers and redesigned stock apps. A “Dark Mode” has also been added which we have seen in some Custom UIs like Flyme OS and MIUI in past. Google is also bringing this feature in its upcoming Android Q.
Vivo has released many phones with an in display fingerprint sensor, and many more will be coming. For this, Vivo has included new lock screen animations in the OS so that unlocking the screen looks more appealing. Funtouch 9 also has an Always On Display mode.
Availability:
Chances are there that not all Vivo phones will get all the new features mentioned above. Also, details about the global release date are not known yet. Do keep in mind that some of the features might not make their way on to the Global ROM. We should rather wait for the official global announcement from Vivo.
