The Android upgrades are gathering pace now. While there were a few initial hiccups, it seems everything is back on track, and pretty fast as well. Earlier, a few big players in the market like Google and Samsung were the front-runners in quickly adopting the latest Android upgrades. However, the landscape has witnessed a tectonic shift and the relatively new OEMs are now following this trend too. The OEMs like Oppo and Vivo are now the force to reckon with as well. In this regard. Vivo has just welcomed the Android 11 Beta update to its NEX 3S device.
Well, one shouldn’t be surprised by this news considering the great track-records that they are following. Just a few days, back another Vivo device, the iQOO 3 (4G/5G) was blessed with the said update as well. The other OEMs part of this BBK Electronics, Oppo and OnePlus have also announced the latest updates for their devices. The Oppo Reno Find X2 and X2 Pro and the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are some of the other devices to get a taste of the same.
Coming back to Vivo, the Android 11 Beta update has just landed on the NEX 3S device as well. In this guide, we will be sharing the download link as well as the installation instructions. But before we do so, let us make you acquainted with some of the noteworthy features of the Android 11 build. Android 11: What’s New?
Here are some of the new and interesting features of Android 11. Check it out!
Media toggles in Quick Settings
The media toggles have now been moved to the Quick Settings panel. Till now, it was present in the notification bar itself. As far as the options go, it consists of these three toggles: Next, Pause and Previous.
Location Permissions
Some much-needed changes are made to Location permissions as well. Now, there are three options to choose from, namely: While using the app, Only this time, Deny. The second one is the new addition to the list. You could now give location permissions to any app only just for one single time.
Separate Notification Channels
Finally, there is now much-needed clarity in the Notification section. Up until now, the conversations from messaging apps were all messed up with the other app’s notifications. This really made it difficult to find the more important notifications. However, Google has now divided the notification sections into three different channels: Conversations, Alerting Notifications, and Silent Notifications. It is the first one that we are most interested in. With this new change, all your messages (from all apps) will be present under that section itself, segregated from the others.
New Additions to Power Menu
There have been some pretty nifty additions to the Power Menu as well. All your smart home appliances could be controlled right from the Power menu itself. It has added the smart home control buttons on this menu. You no longer need to launch the Google Home app.
New Features in Recent Menu
Three new options have now made its way over to the Recent screen. These are the Screenshot, Select, and Share. The first one allows you to take a screenshot of the recent app. The second one gives you the ability to select text from inside the recent apps window. Share, as the name suggests, is self-explanatory in itself.
Bubble Conversations
Android 11 has also introduced Bubble Conversations for every messaging app. You could drag and place these chat bubbles anywhere on the screen. Does it all sound similar? Well, it is similar to Facebook’s Messenger has to offer.
