Xiaomi launched the Mi 9 SE in China last month. The phone is a cheaper variant of their flagship Mi 9. Though Xiaomi has not yet announced the plans of bringing it to global markets, but some recent reports suggest it can be out anytime soon.
The smartphone has been listed by Xiaomi on their Global compliance page. This hints that Xiaomi doesn’t just want to keep this phone in China. Also some times ago in the MWC, GizChina got their hand on the phone and noticed something interesting. The phone was running on MIUI’s Global stable version. This is another hint which points towards a possible global release of the phone. The Mi 9 SE offers one of the best specifications you can get in the price range.
Specifications:
The phone comes with a 5.97-inch Full HD+ display with 1080x2340p screen resolution. It comes protected with Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The screen also has an in display fingerprint sensor inside. It is the first smartphone to be powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 712 Soc and comes with 6GB RAM with up to 128 GB internal storage. In the camera department, it houses a triple camera setup on the back which includes 48MP + 13MP + 8MP sensors, and a 20 MP selfie camera is placed inside the water drop notch in the front. The phone gets its juice from a 3070 mAh battery which also supports 18W fast charging.
Price and availability:
The Mi 9 SE is priced between ¥1999 to ¥2299 ($297 – $342 / ₹20,580 – ₹23,670). The phone might be launched in the European markets first. There are no words on the Indian launch, as Xiaomi almost never launches its high-end and flagship phones in India.
