Fix: GTA 5 OpenIV Not Working or Download Problem

Though the title is doing really well and advanced players can use mods to enhance the gaming performance, it seems that several GTA V players are facing multiple issues. In-game mods are quite useful in terms of gameplay experience, but sometimes they might trouble launching games or performing any tasks. Recently, GTA 5 OpenIV Not Working or Download Problem has become a hot topic.

In that case, if the OpenIV webpage doesn’t load or throws an error then make sure to follow the steps below to use the internet archive directory to download the OpenIV file.

Open the web browser and search for Wayback Machine.
Visit the website and enter the OpenIV setup download URL directly.
Then click on Browse History > Scroll down to the calendar format and go to the latest available date. [blue marked]
Now, hover over the date, and click on the timestamp to easily download the latest version of the OpenIV setup file.

6. Try Using Discord Server (GTA GAMER)

If the internet archive directory method didn’t come in handy then make sure to try using the Discord server invitation link and the steps to grab the OpenIV setup executable. To do so:

Visit the Discord Server Invitation Link here.
Then click on GTA GAMER Discord Server from the left pane to open it.
Now, search for the latest available OpenIVsetup.exe file link.
You should get a potentially dangerous download notice > Click on Continue to download.
Once downloaded, go through method 04 above to install and run this tool.

7. Update GTA V

It’s also worth recommending you simply update the GTA 5 game on the PC by following the steps below to ensure there is no issue with the outdated game patch version. An outdated game patch version can eventually trigger multiple issues with the game launching or even running mod files.

For Steam:

Open the Steam client > Go to Library.
Click on GTA V from the left pane.
It’ll automatically search for the available update.
Now, if there is an update available, click on Update.
Wait for some time to install the update.
Once done, make sure to close the Steam client.
Finally, reboot your PC to apply changes, and then try launching the game again.

For Epic Games Launcher:

Open the Epic Games Launcher > Head over to Library.
Now, click on the three dots icon of GTA V.
Make sure the Auto Update option is turned on.

For Rockstar Games Launcher:

Open the Rockstar Games Launcher.
Click on GTA V from the left pane.
Go to the Settings menu > Click on GTA V under My installed games.
Now, click on Enable automatic updates to enable it.

8. Verify and Repair the Game Files

The chances are high that you’re having an issue with the corrupted or missing game files on the PC. Make sure to always verify and repair the installed game files that should help in fixing the issue with the game launching or even appearing the mods.

For Steam:

Launch Steam > Click on Library.
Right-click on GTA V from the list of installed games.
Now, click on Properties > Go to Local Files.
Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
You’ll have to wait for the process until it gets completed.
Once done, just restart your computer.

For Rockstar Games Launcher:

Open the Rockstar Games Launcher and sign into the account.
Go to Settings > Select GTA V under the My installed games section on the left side.
Now, select Verify Integrity under the Verify game file integrity section on the right side.
Wait for the repair process and then launch the game again.

For Epic Games Launcher:

Open the Epic Games Launcher > Click on Library.
Click on the three-dots icon of GTA V.
Click on Verify and it’ll start verifying the game files.
Wait for the process to complete and restart the launcher.

9. Disable Antivirus and Firewall

You should also disable the Windows Antivirus program on the PC by following the steps below to cross-check if the game mod is working fine or not.

Press the Win+I keys to open Windows Settings.
Now, click on Update & Security > Click on Windows Security from the left pane.
Click on the Open Windows Security button.
Go to Virus & threat protection > Click on Manage Settings.
Just Turn Off the Real-time protection option.
If prompted, click on Yes to proceed further.

Additionally, you can also turn off Windows Firewall manually by following the steps below.

Click on the Start Menu > Type Windows Defender Firewall and click on it from the search results.
Select Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.
From the Customize Settings page, select the Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended) option in all the Public, Domain, and Private Networks.
Click on OK to save changes.
Once done, reboot the PC to apply changes.
