As we said, this driver will run on Windows XP and above. However, for Windows 8 and newer, you have to disable Driver Signature Verification. You can google up and find how to disable driver signature verification for PC running Windows 8 and above.

  1. Download the MediaTek MT65xx USB VCOM Drivers from the above Download Link
  2. Now Extract the Downloaded Mediatek MT65xx USB VCOM Drivers on your computer.
  3. On your Computer, Go to Device Manager. To do that, open Control Panel by clicking the control panel on your desktopControl-Panel-icon
  4. If you cannot find it, then right-click on My Computer and click on “Manage,” and next will open a pop-up screen and select device manager.
  5. Once you click on the Device Manager menu, you will see your Computer name on the top of your Device Manager Settings.
  6. Now tap on Action -> Select Add Legacy Hardware.
  7. You will be welcomed with add a legacy screen in your new pop screen; there, you can hit the next button.

  11. Now Click the browse option and browse for the Extracted Folder of Mediatek VCOM Drivers on your computer.

  12. Once you select the .inf files and click Open, When you see a security warning on which you can select Install Anyway.
  13. After installing all .inf files, you can Restart your PC/Laptop.

  1. This is great, but I can NOT “Disable Driver Signature Verificatio”, as I’m running Win 7-64… that has NO F8 option at startup.
    Been looking all over for workarounds for this on Win 7-64, but only found (many) solutions that only work for Win 8, and above :-(

    1. To disable the driver verification stuff, go to the search bar —–> Search Recovery Options (not recovery control panel) —-> Advanced Startup —-> Startup settings ——> Restart —-> then u’l be provided with options using the F keys…. Select the one with the disable driver signature enforcement (usually it is F5)
      now Try installing the driver again

  6. Why does this guide not say why Windows 10 is not covered? This is November 2018 and Windows 10 has been around for quite some time. I tried to install the drivers in Win7 folder but they would not install.

  7. If i follow your instructions, there are about 6 drivers which i can choose… the standard driver, the prebootloader driver and so on…
    Which one should i use??
    And like everbody else said: You have to disable driversignatures and sign the driver yourself… this step isnt shown here..thats no good for people not knowing how to do this…

  10. Step 11 is not clear. the installer does not show where the inf file go. the other files does not have the said inf file nor do have the folder heirarchy
