List of Android 10 Supported Nubia Devices

Launched in 2012, Nubia is one of the most acclaimed brands with plenty of high-end devices including the Red Magic gaming series which is impressive and has topped the list of best phones as per AnTuTu scores several times. Nubia Red Magic 3 is currently at the highest position when it comes to AnTuTu scores. Nubia is also launching its own 5G smartphone i.e. Nubia mini 5G while 2018 saw some of the powerful devices from the manufacturer such as Nubia Red Magic Mars and Red Magic, Nubia X, Nubia Z18, and so on.

Android 10 is the latest in the Android OS family and was expected to be named on any dessert starting with the letter ‘Q’ which of course didn’t fell through as Google has officially declared that it will call it Android 10. The tech giant will also follow the same numbering method for its successors as well. Android 10 will bring plenty of functionalities and features apart from those Google has already incorporated within Android Pie 9.0 and in fact, it will take it a step further too.

List of Android Q 10 Supported Nubia Devices

Android 10 has a native dark mode enabled which came after many apps began integrating the same within their apps. The upcoming OS will also have pure privacy and security-oriented setup where the user will grant permissions for apps to use various services such as location, camera, etc and any app using any of the services in the background will be blocked from using so. Note that this is just the tip of the features that Android 10 will bring.

Since we are here to discuss the List of Android 10 Supported Nubia Devices, note that we don’t have an official list yet. But here’s an expected list of devices that will get Android 10 and it includes a list of those phones that are likely to get the update and the one which will not get the update without any doubt. You need to take it with a pinch of salt as said, the list isn’t official yet.

Android 10 Features

Live Caption: It’s amazing how you can watch movies and videos on YouTube and other platforms with subtitles which breaks any language barrier. Well, the Live Caption feature mimics a similar feature although it will have plenty of other applications too. It transcribes audio, videos, podcasts, and even your recordings at real-time so that you don’t lose any movement thinking what could “that sentence” mean when watching a non-English or movie or so on.

Security Updates: Unlike previous Android OSes that suffered OS fragmentation and a grave depth of inability of either make or models or any other reason to keep up with the new firmware, Google is offering Android 10 wrapped around with Project Mainline. Google pushes out security updates and bug fixes every month which might or might not reach your phone depending upon either your phone maker or the carrier releases it or not. With Project Mainline in action, you will get the security updates via Google Play Store which eliminates the need to have a middleman. Note that traditional updates from the OEMs will follow too.

Location Controls: Apps seek permission to take advantage of your location for various purposes. Then some apps use the data in the background which could breach your privacy and thus, the new OS brings stringent Location Controls. Now, you can either accept or deny access to the location or any other services to any apps at all time or you can instruct it to use the location services only when the said app is in use.

Sound Amplifier: Don’t worry if your friends are gossiping around you or if you are in a crowded metro train watching your favorite movie or listening to a song as the Sound Amplifier with Android 10 is equipped with background noise reduction and sound amplification functionalities that gives you crystal clear sound even when you are standing amidst crowd.

Family Link: The easy to set up a ‘Family Link’ feature sits within the Digital Wellbeing app on your Android 10. It adds a layer of parental control providing parents to track their children’s activities, bedtimes, set limits on screen time, and a bunch of other features that you must give a try to limit how much exposure and with which apps the children are exposed to.

Focus Mode: Are you trying to focus on something and the notification go off on your phone? Well, the Focus Mode on Android 10 might be of help. Add apps on Focus Mode that distracts you and you won’t hear a thing until you remove those apps manually.

Gesture Navigation: One of the most awaited features on Android 10 is probably the newly revamped but optional Gesture Navigation. It uses a slim slider that doubles as dragging from one app to another or view recent apps. A swipe on the right and the left edges can help go back and a diagonal swipe will recall Google Assistant.

What to do if your Nubia smartphone is not eligible for Android 10?

Android OS is suffering from OS fragmentation which is something where there is a huge gap between phones upgrading to the latest OS compared to previous versions. Where Apple prompts and gets a higher adoption rate with support for years, Android offers two years of major Android update support which again goes through a number of factors before finalizing a list of smartphones that will support an upcoming Android OS. If you have a flagship smartphone launched within the two years from today and has received only a single major Android update yet, you are liable to get a second update i.e. Android 10.

On the other hand, those phones that have already received two updates, the chances of getting a third major update is slim so let’s say there’s no chance for now. Also, there is a wide range of phones that don’t get updates irrespective of their release date so what to do?

If you are still looking out for options to get Android 10 somehow or get a different OS altogether, custom ROMs can be at your service. For instance, LineageOS is a custom ROM which gets a new iteration based on stock Android such as it is currently developing LineageOS 17 based on Android 10. This custom ROM will have a wider range of compatible devices that weren’t covered by the eligibility list committed by both Google and Nubia which means you will get a custom ROM based on Android 10 with the latest UI and features even if your phone is more than two years old although it must be eligible to load it as well.

There is a wide range of custom ROMs available such as Resurrection Remix OS, Paranoid OS, Pixel Experience, Havoc OS, MIUI, etc. You can check out if your phone is compatible with these custom ROMs or not and upgrade accordingly.
