Android 17 has reached Motorola phones, and the company was quick about it, becoming one of the first non-Google brands to push a stable Android 17 build. On Motorola it comes with the new HelloUI software. This guide has the full list of eligible devices, the rollout timeline and what’s new.
Motorola has published an official list, which is unusual for an Android maker this early, so the devices below are more solid than most. Timing still varies by region and carrier, and a couple of models may be added later.
Android 17 and HelloUI: what’s the difference?
Android 17 is Google’s platform. HelloUI is Motorola’s software on top of it, replacing the old My UX branding. It keeps Motorola’s near-stock feel but adds a redesigned Settings menu, a new control center and the Qira AI assistant. When your Moto phone updates, you’re getting Android 17 underneath with HelloUI over it.

How to check for the Android 17 update
- Open Settings on your Motorola phone.
- Go to System, then System updates.
- Tap Check for updates. If Android 17 is available for your model and region, it will show up here.
- Connect to Wi-Fi, keep the phone above 50% charge, and download the update.
Updates roll out in batches, so it can take a few weeks after the official release before your phone sees it.
