Android 17 reaches OnePlus phones as OxygenOS 17. Google released Android 17 as a stable build in June 2026, and OnePlus builds its OxygenOS software on top of it. This guide has the full list of eligible devices, the expected rollout timeline and the new features.
One caveat first: OnePlus hasn’t published an official eligibility list yet. The devices below are based on OnePlus’s update policy (four years of OS upgrades on recent flagships), so treat it as a strong guide that can change once OnePlus confirms the details.
Android 17 and OxygenOS 17: what’s the difference?
Android 17 is Google’s platform. OxygenOS 17 is the software OnePlus builds on top of it. When your OnePlus phone updates to OxygenOS 17, you’re getting Android 17 underneath with OnePlus’s interface and features over it. In China, the same update ships as ColorOS, since OnePlus and Oppo share a codebase.

What’s new in OxygenOS 17 (Android 17)
OnePlus hasn’t detailed every OxygenOS 17 change yet, but expect its usual focus on performance: smoother zooming in the camera, less lag and fewer frame drops, better scrolling and improved battery efficiency, along with new AI tools once the beta opens.
From Android 17 underneath: a native app lock, floating app Bubbles for all apps, a more capable screen recorder, redesigned privacy indicators, a contacts picker that shares only the contacts you choose, and smoother task continuity between devices.
How to check for the OxygenOS 17 update
