Here’s What to do if your OnePlus Nord 2 5G is not detecting SIM card
Fix 1: Turn Airplane Mode on and off
Whenever you face any sim card or network-related issues, you should first turn on the Airplane Mode and then turn it off. This method does the trick most of the time. This method disconnects your device from the wireless system until the option is not turned on.
To turn on the Airplane Mode, Navigate to Settings > Connections > Airplane Mode and then tap on the toggle next to the Airplane Mode. Alternatively, you can turn on the feature from the Quick Settings.
Fix 2: Perform a soft reset
Soft reset (also called Force restart) is more effective than performing a normal reboot. The No Sim Card Detection Error on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G could result from a system glitch. Performing a soft reset ends all the running processes, including those responsible for system glitches, which can fix all the sim card or network problems.
To perform a soft reset on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G phone, press and hold the power button and volume down (-) button for a few seconds. Release your fingers from the buttons once the OnePlus logo appears on the screen. Let the device reboot itself, and check if the sim card issue persists.
Fix 3: Remove and re-insert the sim card
Your phone can throw errors such as No Sim Card Detected when the sim card is damaged or misplaced in the sim tray. To rule out this possibility, open the sim tray and check if the sim card is placed as it should be. Also, check for any damage on the card. If you found any damage on the sim card, replace it by going to the respective carrier’s store. Otherwise, move on to the following method.
Fix 4: Reset network settings
Some changes in the network settings might have caused the device not to be able to detect a sim card. Thankfully, OnePlus offers an easy way to reset all the changes. By resettings network settings, you will lose access to Wi-Fi passwords, paired devices, etc.
To reset network settings on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G, go to Settings > Reset > Reset network settings > Tap on Reset settings.
Fix 5: Factory reset
If none of the methods has worked for you, we are left with the factory reset option. This method works most of the time with software-related issues, including the No Sim Card Detected issue on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
By performing a factory reset on your phone, you will lose access to all your data. Therefore, take a complete backup of your phone before using this method. To reset your OnePlus Nord 2 5G, navigate Settings > Reset > Factory Data Reset. After that, the device will take a couple of minutes to complete the process. Ensure that the device has at least 50% battery, as the process can sometimes take longer than usual.
We believe that one of the methods would have helped you fix the issue on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G. Let us know which method did the trick for you in the comments below.
“To perform a soft reset on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G phone, press and hold the power button and volume down (-) button for a few seconds” does not work, it simply takes screen shots.

tried all steps. no succes
None of them does work for my problem. In my case the phone does not recognize the SIM card by switching back from a foreign net (abroad) to my home network. To reactivate the SIM again I have to insert it in another phone and wait until it logs in to my providers network. Then I can move the SIM into the OnePlus and it works as it should. My provider knows the problem and is in contact with OnePlus but they did not have a solution until now. In the meantime I think about changing the provider. I am form Austria an getting booked in a foreign network is nearly unaviodable in this small country.
I have the same issues of Jurgen. When I am going abroad the second Sim is not detected. It stays silent and not active. It happened four times last year. And a couple of times this year. I solved the same trick, last time, I came back from Spain. I had to take out the Sim and insert it in a old phone and after it “resurrect”. Now I am in Spain again and still the same problem. And I haven’t got any spare phone. Sim 2 not working, not detected by the roaming carrier.
