Oppo A5 2020 Android 10 with ColorOS 7 Update Tracker

New updates are added on August 18, 2020: Oppo is now rolling out the Android 10 based ColorOS 7.1 update for the Oppo A5 2020 smartphone in Japan. The update comes with version number CPH1943EX_11_C.75 and upgrades the phone with the latest software features. Several Japanese users have also confirmed the arrival of this new update onto their phones.

New updates are added on June 16, 2020: So, grab your Oppo A5 2020 phones, as the company is now rolling out the Android 10 ColorOS 7 update for the device. The beta update for the phone was available last month and going by the update roadmap, Oppo promised to deliver the Android 10 ColorOS 7 update for the Oppo A5 2020 by June 24. But, now the update is being pushed for a limited number of users and if everything goes according to the plan, then the OEM will make the update available for more users. New updates are added on May 29, 2020: The stable Android 10 ColorOS 7 update will be available for the Oppo A5 2020 smartphones in the coming month of June. After weeks of testing the beta updates, the stable update will finally be live for the users in June and they can expect to experience a bug-free update. As per the roadmap, the Android 10 update for the Oppo A5 2020 will start to roll out from June 15. As it will be a staged rollout, the update will take some time in covering all the units.

Oppo A5 2020 Android 10 with ColorOS 7 Update Status

Updated on May 1, 2020: Oppo has kept the promise and they have revealed the official date for the Oppo A5 2020 ColorOS 7 + Android 10 Trial Version program. The company is all set to announce the early adopters’ program on May 22 for the Oppo A5 2020 model. Only a limited number of successfully selected applicants will become eligible to receive the beta update. You can check here for more info.


Coming to the primary discussion, Oppo has released the official Android 10 based ColorOS 7 Trial version plan for the plenty of remaining Oppo models which will be implemented from March to June 2020. While specifically the Oppo A5 2020 unit users will be able to apply for the ColorOS 7 early beta testing program from May 2020 (Q2).

Just like other Oppo devices, the company will announce the beta testing recruitment process and timing for the interested users. After the successful submission and selection, all the eligible (limited number) beta testers will be able to receive the ColorOS 7 beta update within a couple of days. Oppo A5 (2020) Specifications

The Oppo A5 (2020) model has a 6.5-inches IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, Adreno 610 GPU. It’s coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard memory that can be expanded by using a MicroSD card slot.

The Oppo A5 2020 device sports a quad rear camera setup of a 12MP (wide, f/1.8) + an 8MP (ultrawide) + a 2MP (f/2.4) + a 2MP (depth, f/2.4) lens with a couple of modes like HDR, PDAF, Panorama, an LED flashlight, etc. There is an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter placed on the front side with HDR mode.

It has a huge 5,000mAh battery with reverse charging technology and there are all the major connectivity options available like Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, NFC, FM Radio, USB 2.0 Type-C port, USB OTG, etc.
