Check the thermal fuse:
There is a thermal fuse inside the dishwasher, which, when overheated, can prevent the dishwasher from functioning. And if for some reason, it is blown, that will prevent the dishwasher from starting up as well. To check the fuse, you need to use a multimeter. If you find out that it is not working correctly, replace it.
However, if the thermal fuse is working fine, but you still can’t get the machine to start, try the next solution.
Check the door latch:
A door latch on the dishwasher ensures that the door is shut correctly or not. But if it is broken, the door will remain open no matter how often you try to close it. To fix this, you need to replace the door latch entirely.
If the door latch is working fine, but you still can’t get the machine to start, try the next solution.
Drain pump:
There is a drain pump present in the dishwasher that removes the water from the tank at various times to ensure that there is a proper flow of water. Before a cleaning cycle, if there is some water not drained by the drained pump, that would prevent the dishwasher from starting. It can happen if there is any malfunction in the drain pump or if there is any blockage in it. So check the drain pipe and ensure that the excess water is removed via it.
If the drain pipe drains out the residual water properly but you still can’t get the dishwasher to start, try the next solution.
Check the touchpad:
The touchpad where you have the start button could also be faulty. This would prevent the machine from starting as well. So try pressing all the buttons on the touchpad and check whether all of them are working correctly or not. If the touchpad is faulty, it won’t work. And in that case, you will have to replace the touchpad entirely. You usually cannot get the touchpad individually, as it is part of a package with a control panel. So purchase the touchpad and the control panel and then replace them entirely.
If the touchpad is working fine but still can’t get the dishwasher running, try the next solution.
As mentioned above, sometimes the touchpad can malfunction, and it might be a fault on the touchpad or the associated control panel. So try getting a replacement for your touchpad and control panel and check whether that solves your problem.
If changing the control panel does not help with the machine starting up, try the next solution.
Check the control board:
The control board present in the dishwasher is responsible for providing power to all the electrical components in it. If the control board is faulty, the dishwasher will not operate properly and won’t start at all. So check your control board for any faults, and if you find anything, replace it by any means possible.
If the control is not faulty, or changing it does not help, try the next solution.
Set the timer:
The timer can be set in the dishwasher to tune the power flow to different machine parts. If the timer is not set correctly or misdiagnosed, your machine will have a tough time starting up. So try and fix this by setting up the timer correctly.
If the issue is not with the timer, try the next solution.
Check the circuit breaker:
The circuit breaker of your connection might have some tripped circuits. So perform a thorough check on your power supply and look for any possible tripped circuits. If you see one, flip the course off and then turn it on again. If it continues to stumble, contact a local engineer to fix the issue.
If even this did not help with the dishwasher not starting up, try the next solution.
