How to Fix and Turn Off Mouse Acceleration on Gundam Evolution

Though there are several other issues or bugs present in Gundam Edition, the chances are high that the mouse acceleration issue is troubling players a lot because it makes it quite difficult to perform mouse movements as well as aiming & shooting with accuracy. We can consider it as a glitch or bug that needs to be fixed completely by the developers. Till then you can temporarily turn it off to avoid such an issue on the PC. Luckily, there are some methods for this.

1. Disable Mouse Acceleration on Windows

If the mouse acceleration feature is enabled by default on your Windows computer no matter whether you’re using Windows 10 or Windows 11, make sure to manually turn it off by following the steps below. By disabling the mouse acceleration feature, you’ll be able to fix multiple issues with the in-game mouse cursor moving as well as the precision pointer.

Click on the Start menu to open it.

Search for Control Panel and open it.

Click on Hardware and Sound > Click on Mouse under Devices and Printers.

Under the Mouse Properties section, go to the Pointer Options tab.

From the Motion section, just uncheck the Enhance pointer precision checkbox to disable it.

Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

2. Edit the Config File

You should follow this method only if the above one didn’t come in handy. Affected players can also try editing the Gundam Evolution input.ini configuration file by following the steps below to turn off the mouse acceleration option manually.

Go to the C:\Users\*yourusername*\AppData\Local\EvoGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor directory on the PC.
Locate and open the input.ini config file via Notepad.
Add the following text to the empty file:

An outdated mouse driver on the PC can also trouble you a lot when it comes to stability or bugs. The chances are high that your mouse driver becomes outdated and buggy enough to continue using it. Make sure to check for the mouse driver update on the system by following the steps below.

Press the Win+X keys to open the Quick Link Menu.
Click on Device Manager from the list to open it.
Now, double-click on Mice and other pointing devices to expand it.
Right-click on the active mouse device that you’re using and want to update.
Click on Update driver > Click on Search automatically for drivers.
The system will automatically check for the available update.
If there is an update available, make sure to automatically download and install the latest version.
Once done, you should restart your PC to apply changes.

4. Disable Mouse Trails on Windows

You should also turn off the mouse trails option on your Windows computer because this feature may trouble you a lot in the FPS gaming sessions. You can follow the steps below to disable it.

Exit the Gundam Evolution game properly.
Now, Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys to open Task Manager.
Click on Processes > Locate Gundame Evolution or Steam and right-click on it.
Click on End Task to close it respectively.
Next, press the Win+I keys to open Windows Settings.
Click on Devices > Click on Mouse > Select Additional Mouse Options.
Select Display Pointer Trails under the Pointer Options tab.

You should try reducing the mouse DPI or refresh rate between 800Hz to 500Hz if you’re using a higher DPI value. The chances are high that your gaming performance and the monitor refresh rate aren’t compatible enough with the mouse DPI for faster movements. In that case, you may feel in-game lags, stutters, hiccups, and mouse movement-related issues quite often. If you’re using a low-end or an older PC build then set mouse DPI to 100Hz or 125Hz.

6. Adjust Power Management for Mouse

It’s also possible that the connected mouse peripheral device is conflicting with the Windows system once your machine goes into sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. If this is happening, whenever you exit the sleep mode and play the Gundam Evolution game again, you may encounter mouse lags or cursor precision movement regarding issues whatsoever.

Press the Win+X keys to open the Quick Link Menu.
Click on Device Manager > Double-click on Mice and other pointing devices to expand it.
Now, right-click on the HID-compliant mouse or specific branded mouse device.
Select Properties > Click on the Power Management tab.
Make sure to uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option to turn it off.

Additionally, disabling the specific option will allow the mouse and the system to work seamlessly in FPS games where mouse movements and precision cursor pointing are the top priorities for aiming & shooting.

Right-click on the Gundam Evolution exe application file.
Select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.
Untick the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings box to disable it.
Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

8. Verify and Repair Game Files

If none of the methods worked for you then make sure to follow the steps below to verify and repair the game files properly on the PC. Sometimes issues with the corrupted or missing game files might encounter several conflicts while launching the game or even during the gameplay sessions.

Note: Do not run other heavy applications or background processes while performing this method.

Launch the Steam client > Click on Library.
Right-click on Gundam Evolution from the list of installed games.
Now, click on Properties > Go to Local Files.

Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
You’ll have to wait for the process until it gets completed.
