ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 is a smartphone launched in May 2018. The phone flaunts a 6 inches touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2160 pixels. MaxPro M1 runs on Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. How to Restore Stock ROM on ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Re-lock Bootloader

Pre-Requisites

  • This guide is exclusively for ASUS ZB601KL and ZB602KL devices.
  • Make sure to take a full backup of all your apps and device data as the device storage will be formatted.
  • Charge your device more than 50%.
  • A PC/laptop
  • You have to install ADB Fastboot on your PC.
  • Enable USB Debugging on your device.
  • Remove all security options such as passwords, finger swipe patterns, etc.
  • Install the latest drivers for the device.

Steps To Restore Stock ROM on ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1

Step-1 Download Fastboot Firmware and Drivers to your PC & extract both zip files. 

Step-2 Connect the device to your computer. Go to the folder where you installed ADB.

Step-3 Open shell in ADB. Right click  + Shift > Open PowerShell here.

Step-4 Type the command to list your phone.

adb devices

Step-5 Now enter the fastboot mode by giving the following command,

adb reboot bootloader

Step-6 Now go to the folder where you saved the downloaded firmware and click on flashall_AFT.bat.

Step-7 Wait for some time as the firmware is installed.

Step-8 Now You will see System update notification after you set-up your device. Install and enjoy.

How To Relock the Bootloader  

Step-1 Go to the folder where you have ADB and fastboot installed,

Step-2 Hold shift and right click inside the folder then select “Open PowerShell window here“.

Step-3 Go to the PowerShell window and enter the following commands in order:

adb reboot bootlPowerShell
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot

Step-4 Your device will reboot and take time to start up.

Step-5 Go to Settings > developer options again > Un-check OEM unlock option.
