Vivo NEX Dual Display has an IP rating for Waterproof and Dust Protection?

With the increases demand for increasing the screen to body raion, Vivo has made another progress. The latest Vivo NEX Dual Display comes with two displays. The device was released in December this year. Many customers are hyped about this product and want to know whether this device will hold good under water or not. So today, we are going to conduct Vivo NEX Dual Display waterproof test.

Modern smartphone buyers are now looking for advanced features such as waterproof and dustproof measures while buying a new device. With Vivo NEX Dual Display in the market, consumers want to know whether this device is waterproof or not. Since there are no official IP68 waterproof ratings, we can conclude that the device is not officially waterproof. However, we will conduct Vivo NEX Dual Display waterproof test to find out the truth.

Before we start with our Vivo Nex waterproof test, let’s get to know some of the device specifications. Vivo next dual display comes with a dual screen system. The one on the front side has a resolution of 1080 by  2340 pixels and measures 6.39 inches diagonally. The secondary display measures 5.59 inches with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels. The device is powered by Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 10nm chipset coupled with 10GB of RAM.

Talking about the camera, the device is housing a triple camera system on the back with 12 MP, f/1.8, 1/2.55″, 2 MP, f/1.8

Vivo NEX Dual Display Waterproof Test

There are a couple of tests we can perform to find whether Vivo NEX Dual Display is waterproof or not. These include Splashproof test, water immersion test, rainwater test, and dustproof test. Since Vivo NEX Dual Display is not having any official IP68 ratings, this test will give us an idea of how the device will perform under water.

This test is purely based on individual/team observation. This test will only give an idea whether a device is waterproof or not. So users are advised not to try this at home, as it might damage your device.

Vivo NEX Dual Display Splashproof test

When we subject the device to an accidental water splash the screen seems to work fine. However, the device is not taking any response from the user. The device becomes functional again after cleaning with a microfiber cloth.

With this test, we can say that the new Vivo NEX Dual Display is certainly splashproof to some extent.

Vivo NEX Dual Display Shower Test

In this test, we will subject the device to artificial rain condition. So that we can test whether the device can be used in rainy or showing conditions. With this test, we have found that the screen quickly becomes unresponsive while shower test.

With this test, we can say that the device doesn’t hold good. The user should not use this device for making or receiving calls in rainy weather or while taking a shower.

Vivo NEX Dual Display Short-time immersion

In this test, we will suspend the device in water for at least 10 seconds, This will give us an idea of how the device will react under water. With this test, after immediate immersing the device, can see water bubbles coming out from the speaker and charging ports. This shows that the device is getting water damage.

After this test, we can conclude that the device is not waterproof. Users should take care while they are near water bodies like pool, lake, pond, water buckets etc.

Vivo NEX Dual Display Dustproof test

In this test, we will keep the device in a sandy environment with lots of grain and sand particles with a running fan around it. This situation mimics dust storms and will check how the device holds in such conditions. After the dustproof test, no dust was found in the internal parts fo the device

After this test, we can conclude that Vivo NEX Dual Display is indeed dustproof.

We can conclude that the new Vivo NEX Dual Display is not a fully waterproof device. It might get water damage when comes in contact with water. However, the device holds good with any accidental water splash. The user should not use this device for making or receiving calls in rain either.
