Android 17 is here, and on Xiaomi phones it arrives as HyperOS 4. Google released Android 17 (codename Cinnamon Bun) as a stable build on June 16, 2026, and Xiaomi has since started rolling its own version out, beginning in China and through beta programs elsewhere.
One thing to know before the list: Xiaomi hasn’t published an official eligibility list. The devices below are drawn from the HyperOS 4 beta rollouts and from Xiaomi’s past update track record, so treat it as a strong guide rather than the final word. A few older phones may still get HyperOS 4 later with some features missing, and Xiaomi can add or drop models as the rollout continues.
Android 17 and HyperOS 4: what’s the difference?
Android 17 is Google’s platform. HyperOS 4 is the software Xiaomi builds on top of it, the same way One UI sits on Android for Samsung. When your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone updates to HyperOS 4, you’re getting Android 17 underneath with Xiaomi’s interface and features over it.
HyperOS 4 (Android 17) rollout timeline
- Android 17 stable: released by Google on June 16, 2026.
- HyperOS 4 beta: started around August and September 2026, first in China and then for global and India testers on recent flagships.
- China stable: began rolling out from October 2026, starting with the newest flagships like the Xiaomi 17 series.
- Global and India stable: expected to follow from late 2026 into 2027, flagships first and budget phones last.
As with every HyperOS release, newer flagships get the update first, and older or cheaper models can wait several months.

Note
This list is compiled from HyperOS 4 beta rollouts and reporting, not from an official Xiaomi announcement. Models and timing can change. Some phones not listed here may still receive HyperOS 4 later, and a few may get it on an older Android base with certain features left out.
What’s new in HyperOS 4 (Android 17)
From Android 17 itself:
- Better app resizing and layout on large screens and foldables
- Bubbles for floating app windows
- A one-time precise location option and a contacts picker for sharing only the contacts you choose
- Continue On, for moving a task between a phone and a tablet
- VVC (H.266) video and LHDC v5 Bluetooth audio support
On top of that, HyperOS 4 adds Xiaomi’s own interface changes, including a new visual style. Xiaomi’s full glass-style visual effect needs newer chips such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9500 or Xiaomi’s XRING O1, so phones with older processors get a simpler version of the interface.
How to check for the HyperOS 4 update
- Open Settings on your phone.
- Go to About phone, then tap the system update option (usually HyperOS version or System update).
- Tap Check for updates. If HyperOS 4 is available for your model and region, it will show up here.
- Connect to Wi-Fi, keep the phone above 50% charge, and download the update.
Updates roll out in batches, so it can take a few weeks after the official release before your phone sees it.
Frequently asked questions
Is HyperOS 4 the same as Android 17?
HyperOS 4 is Xiaomi’s software built on Android 17. You get the Android 17 platform with Xiaomi’s interface on top.
Has Xiaomi confirmed the full device list?
Not officially. The list here is based on beta rollouts and reporting, and Xiaomi may adjust it.
When will my phone get it?
Flagships from the Xiaomi 17, 15 and 14 lines are first, with mid-range and budget phones following over the months after. Global and India stable releases are expected from late 2026 into 2027.
Will older phones get all the new features?
Not always. Some HyperOS 4 visual effects need newer chipsets, so older phones get a lighter version of the interface even when they receive the update.
My phone isn’t on the list. Is it getting HyperOS 4?
Maybe. Phones that already got their promised number of Android upgrades may not be eligible, but Xiaomi sometimes extends HyperOS to older models on an older Android base. Check Settings for updates to be sure.
