As a player, you can battle on a near-fully destructible map with various vehicles in the military destruction scenario. Currently, the game is in the early access stage, ensuring developers are yet to provide a fully stable experience. Meanwhile, the BattleBit Remastered Keybinds are Not Working issue with the controller.

Plenty of gamers prefer to use a controller for a smoother gaming experience, but keybinds might have some conflicts or issues that we can’t deny. Unfortunately, there is no official solution available yet and key bindings get reset every time players launch the BattleBit Remastered game. Luckily, here we’ve shared a couple of workarounds for you that should help. So, let’s go through the methods.

1. Restart the PC

You should always try restarting your Windows machine before going into any other troubleshooting methods to check if a normal system reboot can be able to fix the issue or not. It basically fixes temporary system glitches or cache data whatsoever. Though restarting the PC might not come in handy for everyone, it doesn’t take too much time.

2. Run the Game as an Administrator

The chances are high that you’re not running the BattleBit Remastered game on the PC with admin access which might conflict with the user account control (UAC) regarding permission issues. Whenever the system is connected to the internet and you launch the Steam client for the first time, it automatically checks for the available updates, and installs the same. So, there is nothing to worry about it. However, sometimes it might not work and causes multiple issues. So, you can try following the steps below to manually check for client updates.

  • Open the Steam client on the PC.
  • Click on the Steam tab from the top left menu.
  • Click on Check for Steam Client Updates.
  • Next, the Steam client will check for available updates.
  • If the new update is available, it’ll automatically download and install the update.
  • Ensure to close Steam and restart it to check for the issue.

Please Note: If there is no update available that means your Steam client is already running on the latest version right now.

8. Set Steam Input for the Controller

You can try enabling the Steam Input option on the Steam client by following the steps below on your PC to make sure there is no issue with the BattleBit Remastered keybinds not working.

  • Open the Steam client > Go to Library.
  • Right-click on BattleBit Remastered > Go to Properties.
  • Go to the Controller tab > Select Enable Steam input.
  • Once done, relaunch the game, and adjust the controller keybindings manually.

9. Try Using a Different USB Port

Make sure to use another USB port on your computer or even on a gaming console to connect the driving simulator controller. It’s recommended to cross-check the issue whether the controller is correctly detected or not. Sometimes loose connectivity or USB port connectivity might trouble you a lot.

10. Set Steam Controller Settings

You might also adjust the Steam controller settings on the PC by following the steps below to ensure there is no issue with the controller keybindings.

  • Open the Steam client on your PC.
  • Click on View from the top-left corner.
  • Now, choose Big Picture Mode > If prompted, click on Continue.
  • Click on Library > Go to Games under the Browse section.
  • Select BattleBit Remastered > Click on Manage Games (Gear icon).
  • Choose Controller Options from the Steam Input option.
  • Click on the drop-down arrow icon to expand the Change the Steam Input Per-Game Settings list.
  • Select Forced On > Click on OK to save changes.
  • Once done, restart your Steam client.

Note: In case it’s not working, then make sure to select Forced Off or None, then click on OK to save changes.

11. Reinstall the Steam Client

If the above methods didn’t come useful, you can try uninstalling the Steam launcher and reinstalling it on the PC. It should help restore the default configuration and other necessary files to run properly on the Windows system. To do that:

  • Click on the Start menu and search for Control Panel and open it.
  • Now, click on Uninstall a Program.
  • Locate and right-click on Steam > Select Uninstall.
  • If prompted, click on Uninstall again to confirm.
  • Wait for the uninstallation process to complete.
  • You can follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
  • Once done, make sure to reboot the PC to apply changes.
  • Head over to the Steam Download Page and grab the latest version.
  • You can install the Steam client on your PC from the installer wizard.
  • Finally, run the Steam launcher, and run the game to check for the issue.
