5. Verify and Repair the Game Files
Sometimes there might be an issue with the installed game files like corrupted or missing game files on the PC. It eventually causes game launching or controller keybinding.
- Launch the Steam client > Click on Library.
- Right-click on BattleBit Remastered from the list of installed games.
- Click on Properties > Go to the Local Files files.

- Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
- You’ll have to wait for the process until it gets completed.
- Once done, restart your computer.
6. Set Keyboard Hot Keys to None
The chances are high that somehow conflicts with the Filter keys, Sticky keys, and Toggle keys can trouble you a lot whenever the in-game keybinds don’t work.
- Click on the Windows Settings menu (cogwheel icon) from the Start menu.
- Now, go to Accessibility > Click on Keyboard.

- Turn Off all the Filter Keys, Sticky Keys, and Toggle Keys individually.
- Once done, restart the PC to apply changes.
7. Check for Steam Client Updates
Steam developers always try to push the latest updates to the Steam client automatically. Whenever the system is connected to the internet and you launch the Steam client for the first time, it automatically checks for the available updates, and installs the same. So, there is nothing to worry about it. However, sometimes it might not work and causes multiple issues. So, you can try following the steps below to manually check for client updates.
- Open the Steam client on the PC.
- Click on the Steam tab from the top left menu.
- Click on Check for Steam Client Updates.
- Next, the Steam client will check for available updates.
- If the new update is available, it’ll automatically download and install the update.
- Ensure to close Steam and restart it to check for the issue.
Please Note: If there is no update available that means your Steam client is already running on the latest version right now.
You can try enabling the Steam Input option on the Steam client by following the steps below on your PC to make sure there is no issue with the BattleBit Remastered keybinds not working.
- Open the Steam client > Go to Library.
- Right-click on BattleBit Remastered > Go to Properties.
- Go to the Controller tab > Select Enable Steam input.
- Once done, relaunch the game, and adjust the controller keybindings manually.
9. Try Using a Different USB Port
Make sure to use another USB port on your computer or even on a gaming console to connect the driving simulator controller. It’s recommended to cross-check the issue whether the controller is correctly detected or not. Sometimes loose connectivity or USB port connectivity might trouble you a lot.
10. Set Steam Controller Settings
You might also adjust the Steam controller settings on the PC by following the steps below to ensure there is no issue with the controller keybindings.
- Open the Steam client on your PC.
- Click on View from the top-left corner.
- Now, choose Big Picture Mode > If prompted, click on Continue.
- Click on Library > Go to Games under the Browse section.
- Select BattleBit Remastered > Click on Manage Games (Gear icon).
- Choose Controller Options from the Steam Input option.
- Click on the drop-down arrow icon to expand the Change the Steam Input Per-Game Settings list.
- Select Forced On > Click on OK to save changes.
- Once done, restart your Steam client.
Note: In case it’s not working, then make sure to select Forced Off or None, then click on OK to save changes.
11. Reinstall the Steam Client
If the above methods didn’t come useful, you can try uninstalling the Steam launcher and reinstalling it on the PC. It should help restore the default configuration and other necessary files to run properly on the Windows system. To do that:
- Click on the Start menu and search for Control Panel and open it.
- Now, click on Uninstall a Program.
- Locate and right-click on Steam > Select Uninstall.
- If prompted, click on Uninstall again to confirm.
- Wait for the uninstallation process to complete.
- You can follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
- Once done, make sure to reboot the PC to apply changes.
- Head over to the Steam Download Page and grab the latest version.
- You can install the Steam client on your PC from the installer wizard.
- Finally, run the Steam launcher, and run the game to check for the issue.
