Using this new feature, you can win over your opponent by converting them into your religion. Use this feature and create clever strategies to become the dominant leader of the world.

If you want to make the Religious Victory a part of your strategy, then you need to spread your faith in every civilization on the map to make it the religion of the majority. The best method to do so is by using a pair of religious units; the Missionary and the Apostle. Let’s discuss all the ways by which you can get Religious Victory in Civilization VI.

How to Get Religious Victory?

Using the Missionary Unit

Amongst the two available religious units, Missionary is the first that unlocks and is cheaper than the other one. There are specific criteria that you need to fulfill, to purchase the Missionary unit. You need to have a pantheon in one of your cities, and the city should have a majority religion along with a holy site and a shrine. You need 100 faith to buy purchase the Missionary. It can spread the religion of the city that it has bought three times.

Using the Apostle Unit

The Apostle unit is quite similar to the Missionary unit. It will be made available to you after building a Temple or any equivalent in any of the Holy Sites. It will cost you 400 Faith and will come with a promotion available. You will have the liberty to choose the promotion from an entire list of nine promotions for the Suzerain of the Yerevan City State. For others, you will receive a list of three. The promotions help the Apostle reach a higher level. It drastically changes and enhances the Apostle’s performance. Orator and Translator are considered to be the most effective religious victory. Orator helps the Apostle to spread two extra times. While using the Translator can enhance Apostle’s spread by three times, in foreign cities.

Apart from the Missionary and Apostle, there are two more units available. These are Inquisitor and Guru. The defensive Inquisitor helps you to protect your cities from religious assault. However, the majority of the players find support orientated Guru unworthy of its cost. So, if you want to settle down for Guru, you might want to reassess your decision.

But it is not possible to achieve Religious Victory only by using Missionary or the Apostle unit. To win Religious Victory, you also need to weigh in your choice of religious beliefs and wonders.
