Debloat Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro: Remove Bloatware and Remove ads

In this tutorial, we will show you how to remove bloatware and ads from Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro. Both devices have a 6.7-inch display, Triple Camera, and 5000 mAh battery. Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro runs out of the box with Android 12.

Furthermore, these devices run on Xiaomi’s customized OS skin dubbed MIUI. This is highly regarded by many as among the most customizable and feature-rich skin. While all these are quite commendable, they also have a few downsides. First and foremost, Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices run on MIUI, which is always known to incorporate many bloatware apps.

Furthermore, these apps are treated as system apps. Hence you cannot uninstall or remove them from the App Info page. However, the issue doesn’t stop here. Xiaomi has gone ahead and incorporated ads inside the OS itself. These ads are present everywhere, even inside the device’s Settings page. This infuriates the users, and rightly so. However, you could now remove all these ads as well as the bloatware with the help of some ADB commands and a few handy tweaks. Here are all the required instructions to carry out these tasks on Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro.

How to Remove Bloatware from Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro

First, we will look at the steps to remove the bloatware or the pre-installed apps, including the apps belonging to Mi. There are two different methods for the same: using the Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools or via the ADB commands. Instructions for both are given below. But first, make sure you go through the requirements section and carry out the mentioned steps.

Prerequisites

  • To begin with, enable USB Debugging on your Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro. This is needed so that your device gets recognized by your PC in ADB mode. So head over to Settings > About Phone > Tap on MIUI Number 7 times > Go back to Settings > System > Advanced > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.

  • Now, if you are going to use the Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools, then download the latest version: XiaomiADBFastbootTools.jar. This tool also requires you to have Java 11 installed. On the other hand, if you are taking the ADB Command route, then you don’t need both of these applications.

You may now proceed with the steps to uninstall or remove bloatware from your Redmi Note 12 and 12 Pro device.

  1. I wonder if the international versions of the Note 12 Pro is loaded with the same bloat and ads, or if it is just the American models.
My carrier is T-Mobile. The phone I want is specific to only 3 carriers , TM, Mint and

GLOBAL UNLOCKED, NOT FOR USA MARKET 4G VoLTE Worldwide

On Amazon its marketed as Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G (256GB + 8GB) Factory Global Unlocked 6.67″ 108MP Pro Triple Camera (Tmobile/Tello/Mint USA Market) + Extra (w/Fast Car Charger Bundle) (Graphite Gray)

Will this phone even work in the US?

  2. Hey there, thanks to you I finally got rid of all these trash.

My phone is already brand new but being able to removing this bloatware made me feel like i’ts brand-brand-new now. Running faster than before. It’s insane how they clog up the memory with these spyware and apps you will probably never use.

I’m wondering if with the same method, can I also remove bloatware from my other Xiaomi devices such as Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 10 Pro? I’ll be even more grateful than I am now if I can. Greetings from Turkiye.
