Enable 5G on OnePlus Smartphones in 2023
If you have the 5G smartphone, you are ready to use the 5G in the OnePlus smartphone. However, you need to enable 5G in your smartphone before you use it. There are two ways you can enable 5G in OnePlus, which are mentioned here.

Method 1: From Settings Menu
The most obvious way to enable 5G is by using the settings menu. Here Is how you can do that.
- Go to settings on your OnePlus 5G smartphone.
- Select Sim and tap on the preferred network type.
- Select 5G from the list, you will see 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G in the list.
- 5G is ready to use in your OnePlus smartphones now.
Method 2: From Phone Dialer
This is the least used method to enable 5G on your smartphone but you can try it if you want. To enable 5G on your smartphone, please follow these steps.
- Open your phone dialer and select the number pad. Press *#*#4636#*#* keys.
- A phone information popup will appear.
- Scroll down and select “Set Preferred Network” type.
- Now choose from the list and select “NR ONLY” or the “NR/LTE” option.
You will be able to use 5G on your OnePlus smartphones.
In your OnePlus smartphones, NR Only means your phone will strongly use only the 5G bands for the connection, there will be no change in the network. However, you will be left with no network coverage if you go to an area where 5G is not available.
The NR LTE will use the 5G bands as well as the 4G bands to give you good coverage. However, it will switch to 4G where 5G is not available. Make sure to always use the higher bands to get the 5G on the priority on your smartphone.
