8. Power Cycle Wi-Fi Router

It’s also recommended to try performing a power cycle method on your Wi-Fi router because temporary glitches can also cause issues with the network connectivity whatsoever. To do so, power off the router and unplug the power adapter from the power source > Wait for around 30 seconds then plug back the power cable in > Turn on the Wi-Fi router to check for the issue.

9. Check NAT Type

Make sure to view your Network Address Translation (NAT) type on the Xbox Network tab of the Gaming section in the Windows Settings to find out troubleshooting steps.

  • Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
  • Select Settings > Gaming, and then select Xbox Networking.
  • Under Xbox Live Multiplayer, check the NAT type.
  • Here either you can see Open NAT Type or Moderate or Strict NAT Type.

10. Enable DMZ on Wi-Fi Router

Perimeter Network (DMZ) feature can be used manually on a Wi-Fi Router to remove any specific restrictions on the internet. Sometimes your specific IP (Internet Protocol) address can be blocked or restricted up to some limit that has been provided by your service provider. So, the DMZ function allows you to move your device to an area outside your network firewall and let you connect to Xbox Live, join games, host online games or parties, etc.

Note: It’s critical that you use a static IP address on the PC when you set up a perimeter network. To set a static IP address, use your router’s DHCP reservation feature (if available). If this isn’t available, you’ll have to set up manual IP settings on your PC before doing so. You’ll only be able to place one PC on the perimeter network. If you have multiple PCs, this solution will only fix the issue for one machine. You can go through this official link deeply.

Warning: DO NOT use a combination of port forwarding, UPnP, and perimeter network settings (DMZ) together on the router. Keep in mind that if the method didn’t work for you, try disabling the perimeter network (DMZ) before performing any other method. GetDroidTips won’t be held any kind of responsibility if something goes wrong. Do it at your own risk.

Once you have reset your Wi-Fi Router, check the NAT information again to see if the multiplayer not working issue has been resolved or not.

  • Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
  • Select Settings > Gaming, and then select Xbox Networking.
  • Under Xbox Live Multiplayer, select Check again.
    • If your NAT type shows Open, this is your best state and your issue should be resolved.
    • If your NAT type shows Moderate, this is a good state, but you may still have issues communicating or playing with other people who have Moderate or Strict.
    • If your NAT type shows Strict, this state will have the most issues communicating or playing with others.

11. Contact Forza Horizon Support

Last but not least, you should contact Forza Horizon Support for further assistance. The support staff can help you out in other possible ways or ask them to simply escalate this issue to the developers and create a support ticket for that to keep on track.
