Huawei AI Speaker 2 Software Update Tracker

Huawei AI Speaker 2 was launched back in April 2020 as the successor of the original Huawei AI Speaker 1, which was launched in 2018. A lot has changed with AI Speaker 2. You get a new design and have a portable form-factor thanks to the in-built (3900 mAh) battery. Huawei has also decided to provide all the new features of Huawei AI Speaker 2 at the same price of $56 as the previous-gen model.

Huawei AI Speaker 2 comes with the company’s own virtual assistant called Xiaoyi. This speaker supports 5.1 channel surround sound and has a dual 10W speaker. Other details include, supports Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC, 2.4 GHz WiFi, and 24W supercharge. Updated on August 04, 2020: Noticeably, a new update has been released for the Speaker 2 which arrives with version number 9.0.6.2 (H100S P8 C00) via OTA. The updates have been pushed gradually meaning that it will take some time in hitting all the units. Here is the complete changelog of the update:

9.0.6.2 (H100S P8 C00)	Support DLNA audio delivery function (please adapt to the latest version of Android mobile phone experience in the app). Support the absolute volume of Bluetooth connection (needs the cooperation of third-party devices to enable this capability). Optimize the compatibility of Bluetooth connections. Solve some known problems and optimize product stability.

How to update Huawei AI Speaker 2?

1. Via the Xiaoyi Voice Assistant: To check for the new version say “Xiaoyi, check the new version” and if a new update is available and is detected by Xiaoyi, say Xiaoyi, upgrade.
2. Via the App: Open the App and when there is a new update prompt displayed by the app, click the “one-click upgrade” button to upgrade.
3. Auto Speaker Update: Open the Huawei “AI Speaker” APP, click on My Upgrade, tap on the gear icon and press Automatically Upgrade Speaker Software.
