Now, if you want to create a Soul Lantern, you will need to have some resources to be gathered from the Nether. Soul Lanterns can also be used as torches. Players can Mount the Soul Lanterns on the walls but, these lanterns will not hang on the ceilings. You can show your creativity to build these solar lanterns.

Crafting a Soul Lantern
Crafting a Soul lantern is very easy in Minecraft. The only thing which will bother you here is to find the Soul soil as the soul soil is mandatory for the crafting of solar lanterns.
Step1: Heading to Nether
The first step that you need to take is to go to the Nether. For this, you will have to create a Nether Portal. Creating a Nether Portal requires a series of steps- harvesting the obsidian, making of a 4×5 rectangle, and finally, lighting the same with steel and a Flint. Head to the Purple Portal. This will get you into the Nether.
Step 2: Search for Soul Sand Valley Biome
The next step you need to take is to do a thorough search for the Soul Sand Valley biome. This biome is a newly introduced biome that you can find in Nether. Although the Soul Sand was there for some time, they have introduced a new kind of resource known as the Soul soil, and it will be found in these areas. As you walk and notice that something has slowed you down, you can see that it is soul sand. The Soul Soil has the same color as that of the soul sand. But the soul soil will not slow you down. When you see some blue Flames coming out of the earth, this will indicate that you are in the correct direction. Now you can harvest the soul soil as per your needs. For instance, you will need one of them for creating fore soul torches.
Step 3: Creating the Soul Torches
After the harvesting of the soul soil, find some charcoal or coal along with a stick. Launch them into the crafting table. This will generate four Soul Torches for each class of ingredients.
Step 4: Creating Iron Nuggets
When you are done with this, you need to create Iron Nuggets. For this, make use of an Iron Ingot. Paste the Iron Ingot to the crafting table. This will gift you with 9 of them. In a case where you can not find an Iron Ingot, you can use armor, a weapon, or iron tool to toss them into the Furnace. This will craft an Iron Nugget for you.
Step 5: Now Craft your Soul Lantern
When you have successfully created the soul torches, pick up one of them and put them in the middle of the crafting table. Finally, put the Iron Nuggets around the Soul Torch. You have successfully created a Soul Lantern.
Besides being the cool stuff in Minecraft, they do not have any effect on Ice or snow when placed near it. As such, you can use these Soul Lanterns inside a snow base or an igloo for some lighting.
