Fix, Pixel 4 XL Mobile Data not working

Check Whether Mobile Data is ON

Mobile Data is necessary as Group messages are converted to MMS in order to be sent or received successfully. If you’re connected to wifi, turn it off and use mobile data instead. Then, try sending and receiving group messages again.

Verify signal strength

In a lot of network issues, poor or weak signal is to blame. If your Pixel is showing No Service all the time recently, be sure to check how the signal bars are showing on your device. Anything lower than 3 bars is not good and can indicate a network issue.

If you are inside a building, try to go out and see if No Service goes away. If you are traveling by car, it’s possible that you may be transiting a dead spot. What you want to do is to move a known well-covered area. If No service remains, there may be an issue with your Pixel. Continue troubleshooting it by following the steps below.

Check whether voice calling works

Some carriers may have 4G LTE issues which can also affect other network services. Try checking if texting or voice calling is intermittent or having random issues. If they do have a problem even if there are excellent signal bars, there may be an issue with your network. You must contact your network operator for help.

Check the Error

Error codes or messages are usually key to solving problems. If your messaging app displays an error every time it fails to send texts, be sure to take note of it. Then, do a Google search about the exact message or code and see if there’s any available online solution.

Verify Data Subscription

Mobile data is not free for subscribers so a sudden stop for this service can mean that you will have to settle your bills first. If you think that this factor can play a role in your situation, make sure to get advice from your carrier on what to do. In most instances, paying outstanding service will automatically restore the service.

Check APN

Mobile data can’t work if your phone’s Access Point Name or APN is incorrect. Generally, APN is set automatically every time you insert an active SIM but in case this did not happen, or if it was changed for some reason, get the correct APN from your network operator so you can manually change the one on your Pixel device.

Force restart

  • Press and hold the Power button.
  • Keep the button held for 10 seconds, it will be restarted automatically.

Sometimes, doing a simple troubleshooting step can go a long way. If mobile data is still a problem at this point, try to force reboot the phone and see what happens.

Remove and Reinsert SIM card

I don’t think you need another tutorial to reinstall a sim card in your device. Just remove the sim tray from the device and restart the device and then reinsert it to the device.

  • Activate the flight mode.
  • Push Sim eject tool into the circular opening on the SIM card tray to remove it.
  • Power off the device.
  • Remove the Sim card from the Sim tray then place it back in.
  • Push the tray back into the slot.
  • Boot the device.

Once you’ve removed the SIM card from the device, wait for a few moments before re-inserting it. This has the effect of refreshing the system without the old cellular settings. Once the SIM card is re-inserted and the phone restarted, your network’s configuration should be added automatically.

If you have another phone that can work with your network, you can also try to insert the SIM card to it. This will help you check if there’s an issue with the SIM card itself. If the problem returns when you use the SIM card in the second device, you either have an issue with the SIM or with the network. Try getting a new SIM card to see if it’s the SIM or the network.

Verify Roaming

If you were abroad or out of coverage of your home network recently, the roaming setting must still be on. Make sure to disable it in order for your device to connect to the network normally.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap Connections.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Move the slider of Data roaming to the left to turn it OFF.
