How to Make a Saddle in Minecraft

But wait, you could still get your hands on one of them. No, we are aren’t contradicting ourselves. The thing is although making a saddle isn’t possible, yet you could get them via other means like trades, exploration, and fishing. Let’s check out each of these methods in detail.

From Chests

The first and easiest way of getting a saddle in Minecraft is via CHest. You could find these chests lying all around in Minecraft. There are many locations along with the map where you could get your hands on these chests. For example, these could be found in Stronghold Altar Chests, Village Weaponsmith Chests, Dungeon Chests, Savanna Village Chests, Nether Fortress Chests, Jungle Temp Chests, Desert Temple Chests, End City Chests, and Village Tannery Chests. Among them, the Dungeon Chest and the Nether Fortress Chest have the highest probability of giving you a saddle in Minecraft.

  • Desert temples (23.5%)
  • Dungeons (28.3%)
  • End City (13.3%)
  • Jungle temples (12.9%)
  • Nether Fortress (35.3%)

Trade with Villagers

Leatherworking Villagers usually sells these for around 8-9 emeralds. These hostile monsters are always looking for the prey and as and when they find one, they attack in that instance itself. So kill him as soon as possible and earn yourself a reward in the form of saddles. For that, you will first have to initiate a raid, the Bad Omen status effect will come useful in this regard. This in turn could be obtained by killing the Illager Captain (usually residing in Pillager Outposts). Now wave three raids to spawn a ravager and kill him, you should surely get a saddle.

Use Cheats

Well if nothing works out, then a cheat or two might come in handy. To begin with, there’s always a creative mode available that will fills up your inventory with everything. But if you have already created a world, then having a new creative world that turns out to be a good idea after all. In that regard, here is how you could access the cheat modes across different platforms:

  • Java Edition – Open to LAN > Allow Cheats: On > Start the LAN World (keep in mind that you will have to do this every time you load the world)
  • Windows 10 / Mobile – Head over to Settings > Game > Select the Activate Cheats option
  • Console – Go to Settings followed by Cheats and select Activate Cheats.

Now you could enter the cheats as follows:

  • PC – Press the Enter or even T key could do it.
  • Console – Press right on the D-Pad.
  • Mobile – You could tap on the Chat button
