How to Change Email Address on the Xbox Account

We often change the email due to a variety of reasons. Most of the time it’s the crowded inbox with spam and irrelevant emails that forces us to change our email address. Another reason why most users change their email is to link every account to a single email address so that they don’t have to log in to multiple addresses to check for new emails. In this blog post, I’ll show you how to change the email address on your Xbox account so that you never miss out on important messages.

How to Change Email Address on the Xbox Account

How to Change the Email Address on Your Xbox Account

Changing the email address linked to your Xbox account is not as straightforward as you’d find on other applications. The reason is Xbox does not have a dedicated website. Xbox is directly linked to your Microsoft account which makes it a little bit a tedious job to change the email address. You will have to change the email on your existing Microsoft account and that will automatically get reflected in your Xbox account.

Here’s how this method works in a step-by-step manner:

  1. Open the Microsoft account page and sign in using valid credentials.
  2. Click on Your info located at the top of the screen.
  3. Under the Account info section, tap on Edit account info.
  4. Enter the email password (if prompted).
  5. Click on Add email within the Account alias section.
  6. If you don’t have a new email, create one using the first option that says “Create a new email address and add it as an alias“. If you already have a new email, type it in the second box.
  7. Tap on Add alias.
  8. Click on Make Primary next to the new email address to set it as a primary email for your account. You can remove the old email if you no longer want to link it again to the same Microsoft account.

Hurray! you now have a new email on your Microsoft account and for other Microsoft services such as Xbox.
