Steps to Install Android 10 on Nokia 6.1 / 6.1 Plus Manually

Notably, there are two methods via which you can install the Android 10 update on your Nokia 6.1 and 6.1 Plus device. The first method uses the internal or local update method that does not require a PC for manually triggering the update. While the second method require a PC along with ADB and Fastboot tools for upgrading the devices. Let us take a look at the methods, one by one:

Method 1: Local Update

1. Download the update package file from the download section above for your respective Nokia device.
2. Make sure that you have renamed the package file as explained below:
   – rename the file to “PL2-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip” for Nokia 6.1 file.
   – rename the file to “DRG-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip” for Nokia 6.1 Plus file
3. Now connect your smartphone to the PC using a USB cable.
4. Copy the update package file to the internal storage of your Nokia device.
5. You can disconnect the phone from your PC once the transfer is completed.
6. Grab your smartphone and open the Dialer app.
7. Enter the below combination in the Dialer app
   *#*#874#*#*
8. The installation process will begin immediately on your device.
9. Once the update is complete, your device will reboot. Note that the first reboot will take some time.
10. Also, the update package file from internal storage of your phone will be deleted automatically.
11. That’s it!

Method 2: Using SDK Platform Tools

1. Download the update package file from the download section above for your respective Nokia device.
2. Make sure that you have renamed the package file as explained below:
   – rename the file to “PL2-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip” for Nokia 6.1 file.
   – rename the file to “DRG-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip” for Nokia 6.1 Plus file
3. Download and extract the contents SDK platform tools downloaded from the Pre-requisites section on your PC.
4. Copy and paste the OTA package file to the same folder where you have extracted the contents of the platforms tool.
5. Launch the command prompt on your PC.
6. Turn off your smartphone completely.
7. Now you need to boot your device into the Recovery Mode and for that press Volume Up and Power button together.
8. You will be presented with “No Command” message on the screen. Tap the Volume Up button while holding the Power button.
9. Now connect your Nokia device to the PC via USB cable.
10. Navigate to “Apply update from ADB” using the Volume key and select it with the help of Power button.
11. Now in the command prompt, enter the below:
    adb devices
12. Finally, to trigger the Android 10 update, enter the command:
    adb sideload DRG-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip or adb sideload PL2-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip
13. The installation will begin.
14. Once the installation is complete, reboot your device.
15. That’s it!
