How to Fix Crab Game Crashing on PC

Developer and publisher Dani has done a great job with the Crab Game that’s a First-Person Multiplayer battle-royale kind of game, launched in October 2021. The game basically allows players to play through several different minigames based on children’s games until only one player becomes victorious. It has been loved and appreciated by plenty of players but some players are reporting that the Crab Game is Crashing on their PCs quite often or randomly.

2. Force Use Windowed Borderless Mode

You should also try to force run the game via windowed borderless screen mode rather than the fullscreen mode. To do so:

  • Open Steam > Go to Library > Right-click on Crab Game.
  • Now, click on Properties > Click on the General tab > Go to Set Launch Options.
  • Here type this command-line argument -windowed –noborder on the field.
  • Restart the Steam client to apply changes.

3. Run the game as an administrator

Make sure to run the game exe file as an administrator to avoid user account control regarding privilege issues. You should also run the Steam client as an administrator on your PC. To do this:

6. Close Unnecessary Background Tasks

Whenever there is a couple of unnecessary background running tasks that appear and seem to be third-party sources, make sure to close them one by one to reduce consumption of CPU/Memory usage. To do this:

  • Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to open Task Manager.
  • Click on the Processes tab > Select the task that you want to close.

  • Once selected, click on End Task. Make sure to do the steps for each task individually.
  • Once done, just restart your computer to change effects immediately.

7. Disable Antivirus and Firewall Program

It’s worth recommending to disable the antivirus program as well as the firewall protection on your computer to check for the issue. Disable Discord Overlay

  • Launch the Discord app > Click on the gear icon at the bottom.

Disable Xbox Game Bar

Also do keep in mind that you should disable some other overlay apps like MSI Afterburner, Rivatuner, RGB software, or any other third-party overlay apps that run in the background always.

9. Verify Integrity of Game Files on Steam

  • Launch Steam > Click on Library.
  • Right-click on Crab Game from the list of installed games.
