1. ESET Smart Security

If you’re using the ESET Smart Security program on your Windows computer then follow the steps below to whitelist TeamViewer.

  • Open ESET Smart Security > Press the F5 key to open the Advanced setup.
  • Now, select Detection Engine > Expand Exclusions.
  • Click on Edit under Performance Exclusions.
  • From the Path section, click on Add.
  • Browse for the TeamViewer file path that you want to exclude from scanning.
  • Once excluded, click on OK to save changes.

This should fix the TeamViewer Blocked by Antivirus or Firewall issue.

2. Avast Antivirus

If you’re using the Avast antivirus then follow the steps below:

  • Open Avast antivirus and click on Settings.
  • Switch to the General tab from the left panel.
  • Go to Exclusions > Add the TeamViewer program.
  • Create a Firewall rule > Save changes to apply.

3. Avira Security

  • Launch the Avira antivirus program on your computer.
  • Go to Menu > Click on Configuration.
  • Select the Internet Protection feature > Access the Application rules link.
  • Go to the Firewall settings > Head over to the exclusion list.
  • Then click on Change > Find and select TeamViewer.
  • Enable the program access and save changes.

4. Bitdefender Security

  • Launch Bitdefender on your computer.
  • Click on the Protection tab (shield icon).
  • Now, click on the View Modules link.
  • Click on the Settings icon from the upper-right corner.
  • Next, switch to the Exclusions tab > Click on the list of files and folders excluded from scanning entry.
  • Click on the Add button > Browse and access the TeamViewer folder.
  • Make sure you have selected both on-demand and on-access scanning features.
  • Click on Add then save changes.
  • Select List of processes excluded from scanning and pick up the TeamViewer.exe file.
  • Click on Allow and save your changes.
  • Finally, restart your computer.

5. Kaspersky Security

  • Launch Kaspersky on your computer.
  • Click on General Settings > Go to Additional from the left pane.
  • Click on Threats and Exclusions > Select Configure exclusion.
  • Choose TeamViewer and add it to the Firewall exclusion list.
  • Make sure to save changes and restart your computer.

6. AVG Antivirus

  • Launch AVG antivirus > Click on Firewall from the right side.
  • Click on Settings > Go to Advanced settings.
  • The AVG Internet Security window will open.
  • Click on the Applications tab > If TeamViewer is listed there, select it.
    • If not listed, click on the Add button.
  • Browse and add the TeamViewer executable file.
  • Click on Create > Close the Firewall settings.
  • Restart your computer to apply changes.

7. Symantec Antivirus

  • Open Symantec antivirus > Click on Advanced.
  • Go to the Firewall option from the left pane.
  • Now, click on Settings > Click on Add from the Application Blocking Settings menu.
  • Then select TeamViewer from the list.
    • If TeamViewer isn’t there, make sure to click on Other and search for it.
  • Select TeamViewer from the Choose Application dialog.
  • Click on Choose > Select Done to save changes and restart your computer.

8. Windows Defender

If in case, you’re only using the default Windows Defender security program then make sure to whitelist TeamViewer in it by following the steps below:

  • Press Windows + I keys to open Windows Settings.
  • Click on Update & Security > Click on Windows Security from the left pane.
  • Click on Virus & threat protection > Click on Manage settings.
  • Now, click on Add or remove exclusions.
  • Browse and add the TeamViewer application to it to whitelist the program.
  • Once done, make sure to save changes, and restart your computer.

Similarly, you should also allow the program on the Firewall by following the steps below:

  • Press Windows + I keys to open Windows Settings.
  • Click on Update & Security > Click on Windows Security from the left pane.
  • Click on Virus & threat protection > Click on Firewall & network protection.
  • Go to Allow an app through firewall > Click on Change settings.
  • Scroll the list and select TeamViewer for both the Private & Public domains.
  • If TeamViewer isn’t on the list, click on Allow another app.
  • Browse and add TeamViewer in Firewall > Click on OK to save changes.
  • Make sure to reboot your computer to change effects.
