G955USQU5DRL5: How to Install Galaxy S8 Plus One UI Android Pie Beta

Good news for all the Galaxy S8+ user running on Snapdragon processor. Now there is a new leaked Galaxy S8 Plus OneUI Pie Beta which comes with build number G955USQU5DRL5. In this guide, we will tell you how to install G955USQU5DRL5 One UI Closed Beta on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.

Remember that it’s exclusively for Galaxy S8 Plus sporting the Snapdragon chipset with variant SM-G955U. Here you can flash the firmware via ODIN Tool and then apply the Pie update via sideloading. First flash the Full Stock ROM G955USQU5CRK1 Oreo Update and then flash the incremental firmware from G955USQU5CRK1-to-S5CRL1 and then flash the OneUI Pie update from G955USQS5CRL1 to G955USQU5DRL5. You can find the download link for the firmware and ODIN flash tool in the respective download section. It’s a stock ROM that we will be flashing, so if your device has custom ROM, it won’t work on that.

Android 9.0 Pie is the 9th generation of Google’s Android OS. The new Pie OS brings the popular gesture-based navigation system. It also brings New Quick Settings UI design, Redesigned volume slider, Advanced Battery with AI Support, Notch Support, Improved Adaptive Brightness, Manual theme selection, Android Dashboard which Google calls Digital Wellbeing, and more other features.

How to Install G955USQU5DRL5 One UI Closed Beta on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

To install this closed beta you have to download the required firmware and the mandatory ODIN tool. We have put up the links to download the respective files. Also, you have to follow some other guidelines.

Pre-Requisites

  • This firmware is exclusively for Galaxy S8 Plus Snapdragon variant. Don’t use on other devices.
  • Make sure to have more than 50% battery on your device.
  • A PC or Laptop to perform the installation.
  • Install Samsung USB Drivers on your PC.
  • Download Odin Tool.
  • Take a Full Backup on your phone before installing any new firmware.
  • You need to Enter Samsung Download Mode.

Steps of Installation

Step-1 Download the firmware and other required files.

Step-2 If you have an SD Card in your Galaxy S8 Plus, copy the firmware update zip file to the SD Card. Otherwise, skip this step.

Step-3 Open the Odin files and flash the full Stock firmware zip file..

Step-4 Check inside this zip file. You will see six files. Now in the Odin Tool, you will see 5 categories, but you have to use only 4.

Step-5 Switch your device off > hold Power + Volume Down + Bixby button. This will put your Galaxy S8 Plus into Odin mode.

Step-6 Open Odin > select the BL, AP, CP, and HOME_CSC. Remember, not to select the user data. It will wipe away your data.

Step-7 Click on start.

Step-8 Your phone will flash the new firmware and then reboot.

Step-9 After you do this, wait for a few minutes and then switch off your phone and

Step-10 Reboot into recovery by holding Power + Volume Up + Bixby.

Step-11 Now use the CRK1 to DRL5 OTA zip to update.

Step-12 Use the volume buttons to navigate and power button to select “apply update from SD card.”

Step-13 The update will now begin and it may take a few moments to finish.

Step-14 In case if you don’t have an SD Card, use the volume buttons to select the “apply update from ADB”.

Step-15 After that open the command prompt on your PC and type the following command.

adb sideload <path of file/ OTAupdate.zip>

This way also the update can be flashed. Remember to reboot your device and it will open up with the closed oneUI Android Pie beta OS on board.
