Grounded Thistle Location and Crafting Guide

Grounded is a game that demands you to push yourself to the boundaries and use everything you can to survive against the deadly creatures actively seeking you out for a meal. For this purpose, one of the most useful tools is the bow and arrow. You will find the bow at the beginning of the game, but you will have to prepare arrows in stacks of ten from thistle needles.

You can only find these thistle needles in specific areas of the map. Now, we will take you through the locations of thistle needles, how to harvest them, and craft arrows from them.

Thistle needle locations and harvesting in Grounded

Thistle plants are comparatively rarer than regular grass, but this also means that they are distinctly visible wherever they are. Whenever you end up in a clearing, keep an eye out above the grass for some tall, violet-colored plants. These are the thistles that you can harvest needles from.

If you are not in a clearing, they can be a little trickier to notice. Keep in mind that at eye level, they are still quite distinct with their jagged-edged leaves protruding a bit above the ground.

You can then harvest thistle needles by hacking at them with any axe – even a level 2 axe will suffice. You will obtain one thistle for every strike. Keep working hard, because you will need a lot of thistles for your crafting work. Fortunately, the thistle plants do not run out upon being harvested, unlike grass and other plants.

Uses of thistle needles in Grounded

As of now, there are three clearly known uses of thistles in Grounded. Firstly, you can combine them with mite fuzz to produce arrows to use with your sprig bow. These weapons are vital for ranged combat, so you need to craft them as soon as you can. They will come in handy when dealing with deadly foes like ladybugs and spider beetles (it might seem funny reading this, but they are actually formidable enemies in the game). Make sure you keep aside a good amount of space for arrows crafted from your harvested thistle needles.

Apart from this, you can use thistles to craft the Spiky Sprig. This is a special melee weapon that, apart from inflicting a good deal of damage, can also stun your enemies. You can also use thistles to produce Spike Strips. These are objects resembling large spiked logs, which you can lay down in front of your base. They will help in repulsing uninvited guests like ants.

That is it for now. We hope our guide will help you harvest thistles and produce the vital tools you need to survive the perilous jungles of Grounded.
