Oppo is stepping into the 5G market game with its latest Oppo Reno 3 and Oppo Reno 3 Pro. Both of these devices come with active 5G connection ready. In India, 5G technology is soon to be implemented, so users will be able to use it soon. Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro both are supposed to be flagship devices. With a price tag of around 34,999 INR, customers demand extra security and damage protection in their devices. So the question arises, is the new Oppo Reno 3 and Oppo Reno 3 Pro waterproof devices? Well, we will conduct a waterproof test on both the device and will tell you whether they are waterproof or not.
Oppo has launched both of these devices in December 2019 and are completely 5G ready. However, we haven’t seen many waterproof devices from Oppo recently. So customers want to know whether these devices are waterproof or not. So today in this post, we will conduct a waterproof test to check the truth.
Is Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro Waterproof Devices?
The waterproof technology is a must-have feature in any modern smartphone. Since it gives an extra layer of security and some new features to mobile, many smartphone manufacturers are now shipping their devices with official waterproof ratings. For any smartphone to be waterproof, it must possess a special IP waterproof rating. An IP rating is an international standard that is used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of modern smartphones. These IP ratings are presented in the form of IP followed by two numbers.
The IP68 rating is the best that a smartphone can hold. However, it is important to note that this IP testing is done against freshwater. So you might end with slightly different results against saltwater or other liquids such as soft drinks. We did check with the official sources and could not find any IP67 or IP68 waterproof ratings on both the devices. This means that Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro are not actually waterproof. However both of these devices might be splashproof, so we will conduct a waterproof test on both these devices.
