Oppo A9 2020 Android 10 ColorOS 7 Stable Update Rolling Out

New update on June 16, 2020: Good news for the Oppo A9 2020 smartphone users, because the OEM has now made the Android 10 (ColorOS 7) stable update live for the users. There is no set quota for this push and all the users of the Oppo A9 2020 are eligible to pick up the update. The update will be arriving with version number C.65 via OTA. In order to check for the update, you need to head over to Settings > Software Updates and click on “Trial Version” from the gear menu located in the upper right corner. New update on June 12, 2020: The Chinese variant of the Oppo A9 2020 which is known as Oppo A11x is now getting served with the stable Android 10 update along with ColorOS 7. And while the users in China are picking up the update, it should soon be expected to arrive for the users of the Oppo A9 2020 in other regions as well. Going by the official roadmap, the Android 10 stable update is expected to arrive starting from June 15, which is not far away.


New update on June 10, 2020: The early adopter’s program for Android 10 (ColorOS 7) beta update has been increased by Oppo for the Oppo A9 2020. The early adopter’s program has now been increased to a quota of 10,000 users and the recruitment has begun from June 9, 10 AM. Notably, beta recruitment is live only for the users of Oppo A9 2020 in China. In order to enroll yourself, click Settings> Software Update> Settings button in the upper right corner, then Upgrade early adopters> ColorOS 7 official version early adopters, and fill in the required information, check the early adopters notice and privacy policy, click on “Apply now”. And those who have successfully registered will be receiving the updates within three days.


New update on May 23, 2020: The Android 10 (ColorOS 7) beta update is now live for the Oppo A9 2020. As per the official roadmap, the update was scheduled to roll out on May 28. But, by the looks of it, the OEM seems to have been in a rush and has rolled out the update for the users of the Oppo A9 2020. The first batch of the registration is limited to around 5000 users and those who have registered successfully with the beta program, are receiving the update with version number CPH1931EX_11.C.60.  For those who wish to apply for the update, can head over to Settings>>Software Updates>>tap the gear icon>>Trial Version>>fill in the required information and click on Apply Now. New update on May 2, 2020: So, Oppo has now finally shared a new timeline that specifically depicts the date on which the Oppo A9 2020 will get the beta rollout of the Android 10 as well as the Android 10 stable update. As per the newly released update plan, the A9 2020 will get a stable update in Singapore and Taiwan somewhere in Q3 2020. While talking about the beta rollout plan, the Oppo A9 2020 is scheduled to get the beta rollout on May 28.

New update on April 30, 2020: Oppo has revealed the exact dates on which the users of the Oppo smartphones can expect the ColorOS 7 (Android 10) updates on their phones. Notably, the Oppo A9 2020 will be updated with the best of ColorOS 7 (Android 10) in May 2020. So, users can expect to enroll themselves with the beta program and later get the update as soon as the program kicks off.


New Update on April 11, 2020: Amidst Coronavirus crisis, Oppo decided to change the release date of ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 to a few of their devices. Oppo A9 2020 Android 10 ColorOS 7 Update Status

Updated on March 08, 2020: Oppo tweeted a new ColorOS 7 + Android 10 roadmap to their device where it says Oppo A9 2020 will receive Android 10 in May month.

We’ve provided the update timeline screenshot below and all the Oppo A9 (2020) unit users can be able to apply & receive the ColorOS 7 based Android 10 early beta build in Q2 2020. So, the interested beta testers should have to wait for a couple of weeks or so to receive the beta update notification.

Oppo A9 2020 Specifications

The device came with a 6.5-inches IPS LCD display with 720×1600 pixels resolution. It’s equipped with Snapdragon 665 chipset, Android 9.0 Pie (ColorOS 6.1), Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB/8GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage with a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset packs a huge 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging.

In terms of the camera segment, the device sports a quad rear camera setup of a 48MP (wide, f/1.8) + an 8MP (ultrawide, f/2.3) + a 2MP (f/2.4) + a 2MP (depth, f/2.4) lens. The rear camera setup also features PDAF, AutoFocus, Gyro-EIS, HDR, Portrait, Panorama, dual-LED dual-tone flashlight, etc. While the front packs a single 16MP (wide, f/2.0) selfie camera with HDR mode.

It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, FM Radio, MicroUSB 2.0 port, USB OTG, etc. The device has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, an ambient light, an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass sensor.
