2. Update PUBG

It’s also recommended to check all the available patch updates for PUBG and install them to ensure your game is fully up-to-date. An outdated game version can cause several issues with the game launching, stuttering, lagging, freezing, etc. So, you can follow the steps below to update your game.

• Open Steam > Go to Library.
• Click on PUBG from the list on the left pane.
• If there is an update available, click on Update.
• Wait for some time until the game update completes.
• Once done, reboot your PC to apply changes.
• Finally, you can run the game to check for the issue.

3. Verify and Repair Game Files

Missing or corrupted game files might also occur some problems with the game launching as well as gameplay that needs to be fixed on the PC. So, repairing the installed game files should fix the issue for you by following the steps below:

• Launch Steam > Click on Library.

5. Override High DPI Scaling

Sometimes issues with the high DPI scaling on the game executable application file may cause conflicts for the low-end PCs since the graphics capability wouldn’t be powerful enough to handle the required pixel density. To override the high DPI scaling for PUBG:

• Open Steam > Log in to your account.
• Click on Library > Right-click on PUBG from the list.
• Go to Properties > Click on the Local Files tab.
• Click on Browse Local Files > You’ll be redirected to the installed game directory.
• Now, go to TslGame > Open Binaries > Open Win64.
• Right-click on ExecPubg > Select Properties.
• Select the Compatibility tab > Turn on the Disable full-screen optimizations checkbox.
• Click on Change high DPI settings > A new window will pop up.
• Next, enable the Override high DPI.. checkbox.
• Click on OK and then Apply to save changes.

Please Note: Make sure to do the same steps for the ‘TslGame’ inside the PUBG installation folder.

• Once done, launch PUBG, and check for the issue again.

6. Adjust PUBG Display Settings

No matter how powerful the PC configuration you’re using, if the in-game graphics settings aren’t configured properly then you may encounter in-game crashes, lags, stutters, framerate drops, and more quite often. Whereas if you’re trying to play PUBG in 2K or 4K display resolution then eventually your FPS count will drop drastically. So, optimized in-game settings always come in handy. To do so:

• Open Steam and log in to your account.
• Go to Library > Launch PUBG.
• Now, open in-game Settings > Go to Graphics.
• Make sure to change the Display Mode to Fullscreen.
• Just keep the Resolution of the game whatever resolution your monitor is using. [If your display device is using 1080P then set game resolution to 1080P]
• Next, set FPP Camera FOV between 70 to 80 for a low-end PC. [80 to 90 for mid-range PC and 90+ for high-end PC]
• You can keep everything to ‘Very Low’ or ‘Low’ depending on how well it’s going.
• Head over to Gameplay > Set Inventory Character Render to Off under UI.
• Set Replay to Disable and Death Cam to Disable under REPLAY.
• Once done, save changes, and reboot PUBG to check for the issue again.

7. Force Enable High-Performance Power Mode

If in case, you’re experiencing a performance issue while playing PUBG on your PC then make sure to check if the system is running on the balanced power mode or not. If it’s running on the balanced power mode then you may experience some issues with the gaming performance to save power. Make sure to forcefully enable the high-performance power mode by following the steps below to work properly.

• Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• Now, type powercfg.cpl in the box and hit Enter to open Power Options.
  • You can also directly open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options via the Start menu.
• Then click on High-Performance mode if it’s set to Balanced. [You can also click on Show additional plans to expand it]
• If in case, High-Performance option isn’t available, just run the command below in the command prompt window.
  • Open the Start menu and search cmd > Right-click on the Command Prompt app > Select Run as Administrator and click on Yes to proceed.
  • Next, type the following command line inside the cmd window and hit Enter:

• • Then the system will display the Power Scheme GUID and that means the changes have been successfully made.
• Once you’ve made the changes, restart your computer to apply.
• Finally, head over to the Power Options again and select Ultimate Performance.
• Restart the PC to apply changes.

8. Set Launch Options via Steam

If you’re still facing trouble with the PUBG game like lagging, crashing, stuttering, etc then make sure to set launch options for the PUBG game on Steam by following the steps below. This launch option will ensure improving the lagging a lot. So, you can follow the steps below:

• Open Steam and log in to your account.
• Click on Library > Right-click on PUBG from the left pane.
• Go to Properties > Click on Set Launch Options.
• Now, copy & paste the following command line argument:

-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -NOSPLASH -nomansky +mat_antialias 0

• Make sure to save changes and reboot the PC to apply changes.
• Finally, open Steam, and launch PUBG to check for the issue again.

9. Set High Priority of TSLGame.exe

The chances are high that somehow your TSLgame.exe application isn’t running properly because the system resources aren’t allotted for the particular process over other applications. You can follow the steps below to set the high priority of the TSLGame.exe application/process via Task Manager.

• Launch Steam and run PUBG then minimize it.
• Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to open Task Manager.
• Now, go to the Details tab > Check for the TslGame.exe application/process in the list.
• Right-click on it and head over to Set Priority.
• Make sure to select High and then run the PUBG game to check for the issue.

Note: If in case, the system prompts by the User Account Control (UAC), click on Yes to grant admin access.

10. Disable Windows Firewall

You should also disable the Windows Firewall protection on your PC to ensure there is no issue with the firewall blocking at your end with the PUBG ongoing game files.

• Click on the Start Menu > Type Firewall.
• Select Windows Defender Firewall from the search result.
• Next, click on Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off from the left pane.
• Select the Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended) option for both the Private & Public Network Settings.
• Once done, click on OK to save changes.
• Finally, restart your computer to apply changes.
• It should fix the PUBG Stuttering, Lags, or Freezing issue on the PC.

11. Reduce Overheating Issue

Sometimes your low-end or mid-range PC build (especially laptops) might encounter overheating issues due to the surrounding weather, poor ventilation, etc. In that case, if your PC performance seems dropped then make sure to verify whether the CPU cooling and overall cooling fans are working properly or not. You can also try cooling down your PC using proper ventilation and cooling down the room/area temperature.

12. Delete Temporary Files

Ensure to delete the temporarily stored cache data files on your PC manually to refresh the system glitch. To do so:

• Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• Type %temp% and hit Enter to open the Local Temporary folder under AppData. [C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp]
• You’ll find a couple of temporary files inside the folder.
• Press the Ctrl+A shortcut keys to select all files inside the folder.
• Now, press the Shift+Delete shortcut keys to permanently delete all the temporary files.

Note: Some of the temporary files may not get deleted which is common. Just skip those files and delete the rest of them.

• Once done, reboot the PC to apply changes.

13. Disable Vertical Sync

If none of the methods worked for you, try disabling the Vertical Sync (V-Sync) on your PC to make the game more responsive and less lags. It’ll also boost the in-game performance. So, you can follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the blank desktop screen to open the context menu.
• Now, click on NVIDIA Control Panel > Select Manage 3D settings from the left pane.
• Under the Global Settings tab, select Vertical sync > Turn it Off.
• Once done, save changes, and reboot the PC to apply changes.
• It should fix the PUBG Stuttering, Lags, or Freezing issue on the PC.
