Redmi A1 is a decent smartphone with all the modern features of a big 5000 mAh battery and a big screen. The device is intended for budget users who will not use it for heavy gaming or other heavy activities. Redmi A1 comes with Quad-core 2.0 GHz chipset with a MediaTek CPU. The device comes with just 2GB of RAM which limits the ability for users to play heavy games and apps. When it comes to the camera, you get a dual camera setup with 8MP as the main sensor. The device does not have any waterproofing ratings on the official specification list.

Coming towards the waterproof test, we submerged the device under a filled water container for 1 minute. However, the device immediately got water damage on the screen and the touch was inoperable. So it’s safe to assume that Redmi A1 is not a waterproof device at all. So please keep this information in mind while purchasing this device.

The device also comes with a long-lasting 5000 mAh battery and 32GB of storage. For the camera, you get a standard 8MP sensor with 2MP as a secondary camera. Currently, there is no information available for waterproof ratings on the official specs list.

Coming towards the waterproof test, we submerged the device under a filled water container for 1 minute. Once submerged, we were able to observe air bubbles coming out of the device meaning water is going inside. Within 30 seconds, the screen got damaged, and the device was dead. With this, we can conclude that the device is not waterproof or water-resistant by any means.
