To reset your router, remove the power cord from the power source and keep it disconnected for a few minutes. After waiting a few minutes, plug the cable back into the power source and turn on your router again. Connect your TV to your WiFi network and try streaming anything on Netflix.
Try the next solution if it freezes or gets stuck on a frame again.
Sign out and then sign in:
You can try signing in to your Netflix again to fix the screen stuck issue on your TV. For some users, this has worked as well.
- Open up the profiles section in your Netflix app on your TV.
- Select options on the left side of the screen.
- Select Get Help and then choose Log Out.
- Now close the app and then open it up again.
- You will see a screen asking for Netflix login credentials. Enter your credentials and then log in to your account again.
If this does not fix your stuck screen issue, try the following solution.
Disable Samsung Instant On:
Samsung TVs have an Instant On feature that works similarly to Windows’ fast startup feature. When this option is turned on, your Samsung Smart TV will turn on as soon as possible when you power it up. Sometimes this can be an issue, though. There have been reports of apps on Samsung TVs not working correctly when the Instant On option is turned on. So even with your Netflix application, you should turn off the Instant On feature.
- Open up your TV settings.
- Navigate to the General section.
- Find Instant On here and turn off the toggle for it.
If this does not fix your stuck screen issue, try the following solution.
Check your Netflix plan:
It is hard to keep track of every subscription plan for every service on your smartphone or TV. With your Netflix account, there is a chance that your plan might have expired. So use your PC to open up your Netflix webpage on a web browser and log in to your account there. Look for your plan’s information here, and you will know everything you need. If it is expired or disabled in any way, you can fix it there.
If everything is fine with your plans, move on to the next possible solution.
Reinstall Netflix:
Having the latest version of Netflix running on your Samsung smart TV is essential if you want the application to function without any bugs. Over time applications develop bugs and the frozen or stuck screen issue on your Samsung Smart TV could be a bug. So to fix that, you need to update the application to the latest version.
It is best to uninstall the application and install the new version repeatedly ni. This will result in a clean installation which is better than a simple update.
To uninstall the Netflix application on your TV, follow the below steps.
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Open up the Apps tab.
- Go to Settings and then Find Netflix in it.
- Then select Delete, and that will uninstall Netflix from your TV.
To install the Netflix application back on your TV, follow these steps.
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Open up the Apps tab.
- Select the search icon and enter the application name you want to install.
- Once it shows up in the results, select install.
If updating the Netflix app to the latest version does not work, try the next solution mentioned below.
Update your TV:
After reinstalling the Netflix application, you should also run an update on your TV. TVs get firmware updates over time to fix bugs and improve the user experience. So if Netflix not working is related to your TV’s compatibility, an update could fix that up for you.
- Press the Home button on your remote control.
- Open up Settings.
- Using your remote, navigate to support.
- Then select Software update.
- Now select Update Now.
- Wait for the Update to be complete, and then select Okay.
If this does not fix your stuck screen issue, try the following solution.
Reset smart hub:
You should consider this method if none of the above solutions worked for you. Resetting the smart hub will mean losing everything on your TV. Every bit of data on your TV will be cleared up from installed apps to logins, and you will have to set up everything on your TV again.
So move ahead with this solution only if you are okay with losing all your data to fix the issue.
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Go to the Settings section.
- Using your remote, navigate to support.
- Select Device Care to open up the menu for it.
- Here, choose the option Self Diagnosis.
- Now go to the bottom and select “Reset Smart Hub.”
- Your TV will ask for a PIN to confirm your action. By default, the PIN is set as 0000.
- Once you put the PIN in, wait till the reset process is complete.
If resetting the Smart Hub does not solve your issue, try the final solution mentioned below.
Since you have already tried all that you could have, the last solution you can try is contacting Samsung’s customer support. You can contact them on their online forums, via Email, or even through social media. Inform them about the issue you are having with Netflix on your TV, and they should provide you with the help you need.
