Investigate for Server Issue
Probably the first thing you should do is check the servers of Origin and see if they have been down lately. You can make use of websites like DownDetector and Outage Report. If you see that the Origin servers are experiencing any issues, then you should probably wait and let the time pass and check again whether the server issues have been fixed by Origin or not. This indicates that you and others are affected by this issue, which will probably be fixed soon.
Run as Admin

Clear Origin’s cache

- Completely close Origin.
- Open the start menu and type Run or open it via Windows key + R.
- Type ‘%AppData%\Origin’ inside the text box and press Enter.
- This will open up the cache folder of Origin.
- Select everything inside that folder, and hit the Delete button on your keyboard or right-click and choose Delete.
- Once the cache folder has been cleared, you can open the Origin app and try to update Sims 4.
Re-install the Game
If nothing seems to be working for you, then as a last resort, you can uninstall the game from the Origin Games Library (the procedure we need not require to tell you). Once the game is uninstalled, you need to download and re-install the game to see if the error has vanished.
