In the link ‘How to Install the Firmware Update on Android TV Box with Rockchip SoC’, it refers to having an ‘.img’ file after the download.
However… the download section above offers an ‘update.zip’ file; NO ‘.img’ file
Having said that, the last solution in the ‘How to Install the Firmware Update on Android TV Box with Rockchip SoC’ section would apply than: using the ‘update.zip’ file via an USB stick. Fine. Once putting a USB into the MX9 Pro it in deed recognises the update and asks to update that.
Than… an error pops up. It fails to update. (even with ‘the flash button pressed when starting to take the update’. When? After the upadte is granted to start?).
Luckily one can go back to the original 7.1.2 and no harm is done.
Concluding: the update can’t be installed on the MX9 Pro.
Facing same problem as John. The update.zip does not work on MX9PRO.
If someone has a good copy which works, please let us know. In current MX9PRO, Amazon prime etc dont work and it is quite useless!
